    Are todays champs too inactive?

Seems like the norm is 2 fights a year.

And to make matters worse now there are many catchweight bouts and superfights which further throw the system out of wack.

one reason is because some fighters are only cleared to fight twice a year due to stiff regulation. another reason is when they're fighting journeyman and bums they're paid little, but when the competition increases they're paid more so they don't need to fight as often.

when you're up and coming i think you should fight evry other week.

once you win the title, 3 fights a year is a norm, 4 at most.

exactly what i had in mind. also when you defend your title, yiou defend it against guys that earned it, dangerous guys. too risky to fight too often on the big stage, they just stand to lose too much.

It ain't the same for every fighter. After high contact fights, fighters need time to heal up n ****. I think for a top fighter, 2 fights a yr is aight, 3 is gr8 if doable.

              that I can agree with.

It seems like everyone is too busy setting up a "megafight" to do much.. Back in the day they used to fight more often

Guys like Mosely shouldn't be sitting around begging for a fight just because a better ppv attraction (Pac-Cotto) threatened to make more money

Some titleholders are fighting only ONCE per year, such as G. Jones, Valuev and Santos.

There should be a rule that each beltholder must defend his title AT LEAST twice per year, unless they are injured.

I agree with you up to the Mosley statement .... That was and is Mosley's choice - he has always had options {Not Big Payday} but he does have options none the less.

The average once a fighter reaches the upper tier is twice a year - As mangler said ... it takes time to heal and recover form the beatings top-tier talent put on you.

I agree, mandatory fights for title holders should be every six months or something like that...
