Comments Thread For: Josh Taylor: It's Impossible To Keep All The Belts & Get The Fights That You Want

Josh Taylor will always take pride in becoming boxing's second undisputed 140-pound champion of the four-belt era. Ultimately, though, Taylor decided that paying so much money in sanctioning fees and making mandatory defenses in which he wasn't interested wasn't worthwhile. Scotland's Taylor simultaneously defended the IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO belts once, but he has since given up three of those world championships.

When your not a heavyweight those fees are alot, is it 3% upto 300k?
How as fans do we get rid of all these belts? Do fighters undespute & just keep the ring belt? Thing's have to change.

      Blah, blah, blah.
He was dropping those belts like cookies cuz he was on a no-fly list, not bcs he wanted to rematch Catterall.
As soon as Bob managed to get him off the no-fly list, he ditched the "so much wanted" Catterall rematch.

No it isn't BUT he probably looks at those fees and that makes him not want to hold all the belts. Doesn't want to divide his earnings that way.

But it's all on him to make fights happen or not. he's the one that didn't want to fight a mandatory nor set up fights with anyone worth a damn. That's effectively saying, I don't want to box. No mandatory nor make high earning potential fights? Taylor should stop.

it's impossible if you fight once a year for several years. if fighters weren't lazy and promoters idiots, it would be possible.

If y'all fought 3x a year you would stay active yet rested, give the fans better fights, be able to do 2 mandatories and 1 ideal flight a year this keeping your titles, getting the fights you want ect blame the promotions well lack of

You forgot he was the champion. It would have been the opponent's doing the flying. Who wants to fight Puello lol.
