And it’s a fact that fighters can veto things they don’t want shown on the Showtime show.
Back in the day Floyd didn’t like when HBO showed him and his Dad fighting in the gym before the Ortiz fight. When he went to showtime he negotiated that he can make sure things he didn’t want don’t end up shown. Haymon has kept that in his fighters deals when Showtime does a hype up show.
That’s why the Showtime one’s are always boring fluff pieces where the 24/7’s won awards for being great documentaries on fighters.

Both shows have won multiple Emmy awards. HBO has won more but they’ve had better fights seeing as they had prime Floyd and Manny.

You might be reading into it a bit much. It’s definitely a show of status but it’s cultural. It’s hip hop culture. Not my thing and I don’t get it. Mayweather won’t outgrow it but I believe Tank will. Deep down he has a humble spirit that seems to acknowledge the importance of growth and/or change.
