USA Boxing issued a letter on Wednesday, advising their members that the organization has terminated membership in the International Boxing Association [IBA]. USA Boxing is planning to join the newly established World Boxing International Federation - which launched two weeks ago.

What a mess. This is a vital way to reenergize boxing in the US. While not dead, it has been degraded to a "niche" sport in the States. and competing for Gold in the Olympics and in other international tournaments is a way to get the general public interested.

That boxing may not be included at all is just painful to think about. Just consider how many all time greats made their names representing their Flags in the Olympics.

it's interesting how the IBA just points the finger and makes a complaint to its own integrity unit, rather than addressing its systemic toxicity.
