    Amateur Boxing?? Advice??

I used to take boxing but had stopped a year ago. I was in the gym everyday from monday-saturday, sunday was a rest. I just turned 17, I weigh about 106-108 but I'm 5'8. I was told the opponents at that weight are a lot smaller then me and there are very few people that are my age and weigh the same as me so my division is really thin so I wouldn't have to go through many people to get a title. I usually spar against people that weigh around 115-130. I have a strong right hand. My coach often tells me to ease down on sparring because the sparring partners say I'm hitting too hard. I'm in Ontario but I had a fight in Detroit but my opponent didn't show up.. my coach told me this happens in amateur and he hates it. I have trouble with fighters who are faster than me and at 106-108 I might see a lot of that. My natural fighting style is in-fighting. I would like to try out boxing again and win a title. So I have 2 options:

    1. Add some muscle and fight at a higher weight where I would have a speed advantage. More competitors in this division so it could be more difficult to climb to the top but I would be able to fight my type of style.

    2. Maintain my weight and learn and train to use my height as an advantage.

147 would probably be the best weight for you. Any higher and your height will be a disadvantage.
