Hagler wanted the lions share of the purse and got it. Srl wanted the ring, trunks, etc. Hagler gave up all of it because he didn't think Ray had a chance.

Srl/Hagler took a minute to come to fruition, but Hagler wasn't raked thru the coals he was the top guy still when Srl finally stepped up.

Unlike Floyd who over marinated all the best guys on his resume and they were raked thru the coals.

Conditions being set in fights such as weight, gloves, ring size etc etc have been going on forever, to suggest Floyd is the first or will be the last show they have no clue about the history of boxing, its like the exhibitions started way back by others, you are so concreted in your time you think there was never another.

You are a crybaby that is so butt hurt it boggles my mind how you got to you, sometimes weirdness is genetic but more often its environment.

No, you're mistaken, there wasn't any weight conditions for the Hagler-Leonard fight, it was contracted at the full 160 middleweight limit.

        No catchweights.

Whatever Ray pulled, Hagler responded by taking more of the money. It was a tit for tat trade.

Your right my bad I was confusing Rays special ring and glove size and demanding ten rounds with his CW on Lalonde.

Checks thread title. Verifies calendar that the May 2nd anniversary date that shattered the empty lives of Mayweather haters is drawing close.

Now understands vitriol and butthurt in thread. Laughs uncontrollably at it.

I'm not ashamed to admit that i was a mayweather fan and it's sad for the boxing fans that mayweather almost single handedly ruined boxing.

                  It's cool, it's cool.

Anyway, to get back on topic - Tank is the goods but the people want to see him fight the best, put those skills to the test without any weight handicaps

Is it fair to say that now every boxer and their mom look at Floyd's paydays and ask for insane money to fight top opponents? Is it over for the fans? Are we only going to see 1-2 top fights a year because of it?

All I hear this days is "yeah I'm willing to fight anyone.... If the money is right", and the money is never right for them. Now I am not saying boxers shouldn't get paid well. They absolutely do but the delusional landscape Floyd created for the existing and upcoming stars is working against the sport's best interest.

The name of the game now is to become an Instagram or YouTube champ and ask for millions to fight. If you enjoy watching Paul vs Woodley, your time is now.
That seems to be the case nowadays. Everyone is taking a shortcut to the money fights. Many are part-time boxers now fighting once a year.
