Comments Thread For: Ryan Garcia: I'll Feel Much Stronger At 140; I'm Gonna Go Up & Fight The Top Fighters

He's too ambitious for his age and skill level. Tons of talent with no real direction, neither in the ring or with his career. WTF is Oscar doing? Why the rush?
Start from scratch and go get Mayweather Sr. to clean up his fundamentals and add some wrinkles to his game. Follow that with 2-3 easier fights, then have him ready to go in late '24-early '25 at age 26.
He's a social media star and doesn't "need" boxing the way his peers do.Comment

I'm just hearing a lot of people saying Ryan will be a beast @ 140, but Tank drained him. Based on what? If that's the case, then when Ryan goes to 140, I want them to tell me who he is gonna smoke? Prograis? Matias? Gary Antuanne Russell? Teofimo? Taylor? Ramirez? I want them tell me who? Based on what?

When getting beat like that and Ryan knew early he was in trouble, there is a sense of panic and I think Ryan was in that mental state making it hard to be level-headed under fire, it all sounds good from the audience but its a tough place under those lights and Ryan is still only a boy, I hope all the rubbish he will get thrown on him doesn't fck with his head and finish him, he be on a real low right now hope he doesn't slip back into depression.Comment

140 has always been for the fighters who arent good enough at lightweight and those who know they would get whooped at welterweight.Comment

Yeah, only nine hours to rehydrate…on top of being made to get down to a catchweight. Most normal fights have no catchweight and allow more than 24 hours after the Friday weigh-in to replenish. But Tank felt he needed every little extra advantage.
Ryan clearly will not be weight drained at 140. I don’t see how that’s even arguable.
9 hrs was plenty after already gaining over 9 lbs, if he was so drained tell me how he was able to throw Davis around the ring, tell me was Ryan fast, did he have snap, the answer is yes to both, now tell me the things in the fight that point to Ryan being weak and drained, I know he got stopped by maybe the most devasting puncher in boxing.
He had a CW and lost so he must be drained, but nobody can point where he looks like a weak drained fighter, his speed was there, his snap was there, he physically manhandled Davis pretty much when ever he wanted to so what happened, he got hit hard, that's what happened, that's when he became weak, go look at known drained guys Oscar Lalonde Dawson, they have no physicality, they are not snapping punches they are pushing them, they fade round after round, they look unsteady even staggering, where is any of this with Ryan last night, show me.Last edited by Roadblock; 04-24-2023, 02:00 PM.Comment
