Yeah, he's a little slicker than Cotto, but his size and style are similar. Should be some good sparring for Manny. This guy might be a problem down the line, he's got excellent head movement, footwork, and balance.

His balance was one of the first things I noticed apart from speed. Looks good.

Some of the comments about the "Cotto Resemblence" not being seen are mystifying to me.

Don't you guys know that when a fighter signs on as a sparring partner his job is to mimic someone else's style. I am sure that is what Porter will do.

He brings with him a strong left hook, good handspeed and Cotto's build and bulk.

The latter 2 attributes can't be learned or taught which is why he is considered Cotto clone.


And the Berto comparison is off IMO too. Porter has a chin and real power
Berto's chin is suspect and his power is waaay over rated.

Yeah he did and amassed some sick amateur record of 280-10 or something like that fighting at middleweight which has probably been the toughest amateur division the last decade or so. The kid has sick talent.

He has beaten the likes of Estrada, Andrade, Jacobs, etc...
