Matthew Macklin put up a world class performance Friday night in Manchester by flooring Amin Asikainen twice for a first round stoppage to win the vacant EBU middleweight title. For Macklin itīs up and away while for Asikainen, well, he and manager trainer Pekka Maeki will wait a few weeks and think things over before making any decisions but the road back into title contention looks very long and Amin again - same as against Khoren Gevor - looked as if his recuperative power is gone. Botha-Fischer is another interesting HW match-up between 2 past it guys.
Altough Botha is 41 and clearly past his best by some margin,there aren't words to describe how past it Fischer is altough he is younger at 37.
Botha fought a good fight last time out with Hoffman and is well matched now.I thik he will win. -
