  • Just Got Finished Watching Some Old Floyd Fights!

Ive been watching some old Floyd fights the last couple of nights and a couple of things stuck out to me. 1 is that people on here are so insane when they talk about Floyd's weight in the JMM fight and how things wouldve been different if the fight was at 140 or LW. Im the biggest Floyd fan there is and even I forgot what he looked like at the lower weights. Trust me, if you think JMM got beat last Saturday then it wouldve been nothing compared to what wouldve happened if he fought Floyd at the lower weights. The #1 problem JMM had with Floyd last week was the speed and as fast as Floyd is now, he was twice as fast back then. Im watching some of his fights and Im thinking that no one would say Pac was faster if they were at the lower weights. Floyd had crazy speed.

It was also cool to see some of those fights where he was super Offensive and it makes me think about all the ****** threads people make about him vs SRL or Hearns. Again, I always say that its so unfair to compare them at there 1st weight to Floyd at his 4th weight, e****aly when they were huge at that weight. Thats why I say that if you want to compare them then you do it in a P4P sense and Floyd at 130-140 is easily as good if not better then those guys are at WW and like Max always says, he moved up in weight way better then they did. I would love to see Floyd vs Sweet Pea or Pryor at those weights. People always say him vs SRL or Hearns but thats so dumb. The real comparison is guys his size like Pryor, Sweet Pea, Meldrick Taylor, and so on. Maybe in a year or 2 we can compare him to a WW SRL or Hearns if he grows more into the weight.

I still stand by what Ive been saying on here for years. Floyd didnt straight up duck the big WW's. He just didnt want to fight them at the time because he wasnt sure that he was physicaly capable to deal with them and he didnt want to lose to them strictly because a guy was too big. I was just watching that defensive highlight vid and you could see vs Baldy that he was so small back then. That was at the same time Margarito, Cotto, and all those guys were huge. He was only coming in at 146. Now he's probably still the smallest guy in the division but you can tell that he's bigger and much more comfotable at the weight than he was then. I use to tell people that all the time but no one cared and they act like it doesnt matter. Margarito wouldve gave that Mayweather hell strictly on size but now I bet this Floyd would own that same Margarito because instead of 146, he's now like 152 and that matters alot. If he ever got to 156 then it would be curtains for all the WW's.

Either way you cant tell fully from the JMM fight but I truly beleive that he's about to go back to fighting like he was at the lower weights becase he's more comfortable now. You could tell his speed is catching up to his size. Its been a long time since I saw him fight Zab & Chop. I watched those fights because they were Southpaws and I wanted to see how he would matchup against Pac. Again, how can people think he was boring after watching those fights. I loved both those fights. So much skill involved. I feel bad for Floyd because he's always had a name but he hasnt been a huge mainstream name until recently and you can tell that most mainstream people only know him from the Baldy, Oscar, and Hatton fights. They see them and think he's overrated, e****aly the clowns on ESPN who say things so crazy and you can tell they know nothing about boxing. Im talking about the first take guys and so on. If they watched some of the fights I just watched then they would think totally different about him.

Anyways, back to the Zab & Chop fights. I always say that there are only 2 ways to beat Floyd. 1 is to just be so much bigger & stronger than him to the point where he cant do anything but run & pot shot all night. The 2nd way is to be a Southpaw and just catch him. I talk about this more than anyone but I still dont think people pay enough attention to guys being Southpaw. Its a huge advantage in all of pro sports and none bigger than boxing because your just not use to seeing them, everything is backwards, and you can have the perfect D but they can still catch you dead on your nose with a blind punch. Nothing hurts more then that. Against Zab & Chop you saw Floyd's all around skill which to me is some of the best of all time if not thee best. Its awesome all the things he was doing. When you see that you cant help but think that he will straight up embarras Pac. However, you also saw that Zab & Chop are basicaly the only 2 guys to catch Floyd clean a few times and stun him some. People talk about Pac's speed & power but thats nothing. If he had that same speed & power but was righty then he would never win one single round against Floyd and it would be brutal beating after brutal beating. What gives him a real shot is when you add his speed & power with him being Southpaw. I could see him catching Floyd with some blind shots if Floyd isnt watching and it only takes one to end the night.

This Mayweather would have been too much for Marquez.

Pacquiao is wicked fast and Marquez got to him. sure Mayweather fights more on defense, but he also was more on the offense in the Marquez fight than usual. I doubt he would do that at 130. You have to understand Marquez was younger back when he fought Pacquiao and was in his natural weight. If Jose Luis Castillo did good against Mayweather, Marquez could've done just as good or better.

I think that rican guy must have been talking **** before the fight or in the ring, because Floyd looked pissed.

Floyd used to be great, he threw combinations and he was entertaining. Now he so focused on defense it's not fun to watch him anymore, i wish he would get back to his old ways.

The Gatti fight was his last entertaining fight. I know his nuthuggers will say otherwise but they can die in a fire as far as im concerned.

He stepped up in class and fought better opponents that he couldn't do his combos anymore.
