Comments Thread For: Zhang Zhilei's Co-Manager: Joyce Fight Will Be Fireworks; Don't Think This Goes The Distance

Terry Lane respects Joe Joyce and has enjoyed watching his rise in the heavyweight division. Zhang Zhilei's co-manager is convinced, however, that "The Juggernaugt" hasn't encountered a puncher as powerful as Zhilei in any of his 15 professional fights. Lane expects their 12-round battle to be difficult for the huge Chinese contender, too, but he predicted during a press conference Thursday in London that Zhilei will test Joyce's renowned chin.

He's fighting Zhang. Joyce has has at least beaten a top-10 opponent.

I do think Joyce is easy to beat on points with movement and speed and someone like Wilder would KO him. But he is definitely a top-5 fighter.

the pendulum has swung from one extreme to the other - before Dubois most fans were saying "Joyce is as slow as molasses, no chance" - now he is the second coming. Zhang won the fight with Hgrovic and before that fight Hgrovic was supposedly the one everyone avoided - just like Joyce is supposed to be the one everyone avoids now - so credit to Zhang for fighting 2 bogeymen in a row.

How are you betting? I see value on Joyce hitting the floor once during the fight - Betfair - 11/1

Good to see that the great Mills Lane's son is involved in boxing in some way.

Mills was a great referee and I know he worked as a judge for a long time.

The world has lost too many good people in the past few years.

I agree there will be fireworks and won't go the distance. Joyce will do the fireworks and Zhang will be knocked out.

I think Zhang got a chance. He was robbed by flip and maybe couldve finished flip but believed he had win in bag so let flip off hook

LOL...it is funny but also rather sad. Joyce always gets hit but usually hits back as well and I wasn't expecting Zhang to be the one to stop him. Joyce looked solid and if that is what he does, I am afraid this HW era is crap. Apart from the top 4 guys right now, all in their mid to late 30s, there are no exciting boxers coming up.

I recall circa 2018 when only Wilder and Joshua were considered the top guys. Then came Fury (back) and it became a trio and then Usyk made it 4. Dillian used to portray himself as "in the mix" until he failed. Ruiz had his brief moment but showed he was lucky (styles make fights) to win the title and is not leagues above the rest. Dubois, Joyce, Ajagba, and Hrgovic were the upcoming prospects, but now we know their limitations. Even at the top, Wilder is getting old and is rather limited and Joshua is fighting scared which leaves Fury and Usyk. Fury has become a difficult person to deal with and Usyk is aging as well. His speed, movement, and stamina are his weapons rather than punching power and I am afraid those are the first things to go when you get older.
