Comments Thread For: Luis Nery, Ra'eese Aleem: IBF Sends Invitation To Teams For Planned Title Eliminator

The search has begun to establish a mandatory challenger for boxing's newest titleholder. It could get off to a rocky start. BoxingScene.com has learned that the IBF has submitted an invitation to the teams for Luis Nery and Ra'eese Aleem to determine their availability for a planned junior featherweight title eliminator. The promoters for both boxers were contacted on Wednesday and have until the weekend to either accept or decline the offer to enter negotiations for such a fight.

Great fight if it happens. Whoever wins will position themselves for a belt and payday. Fingers crossed and let's not speak negatively into the air so it happens. If not, then let's place blame.

This fight would be amazing. But considering Nery already holds a #1 position, I cannot see the advantage of him businesswise to accept. For the sport? This would be a HUGE win. I also think both men might see career best paydays.

I do NOT care about belts. At all. I think the sanctioning bodies are a cancer on this sport. But the IBF is the least offensive to me. They at least have rules they follow and seem to stick to them, even if their rankings are a complete mystery.
