Mikey Garcia vs Gervonta Davis (Hypothetical)

Miguel Angel Garcia Cortez (born December 15, 1987), best known as Mikey Garcia, is an American former professional boxer who competed from 2006 to 2021. He held multiple world championships in four weight classes from featherweight to light welterweight.

With some context, he had a record of 42-2 with wins over:

Orlando Salido (43-11)- Robert Guerrero (ruled no contest after Salido tested positive), Cristobal Cruz, Juan Manuel Lopez X2 and (Had just debuted) Vasily Lomachenko. He was at his prime despite the numerous amount of losses at the start of his career.
Juan Manuel Lopez (33-2)- Jonathan Oquendo, Daniel Ponce De Leon X2, Gerry Penalosa and Rafael Marquez.
Roman Martinez (28-1-1)- Francisco Lorenzo, Nicky Cook, Diego Magdaleno and Orlando Salido.
Elio Rojas (25-2)- Takahiro Ao and Guty Espadas Jr.
Dejan Zlaticanin (22-0)- Petr Petrov, Ricky Burns, and Ivan Redkach.
Adrien Broner (34-2)- Daniel Leon de Ponce, Vicente Escobedo, Antonio DeMarco, Paulie Malignaggi, John Molina Jr, Khabib Allakhverdiev and Adrian Granados.
Sergey Lipinets (13-0)- Lamont Peterson and Omar Figueroa Jr.
Robert Easter Jr (21-0)- Richard Commey, Denis Shafikov, Javier Fortuna and Adrian Granados.
Jessie Vargas (29-2-2)- Joselito Lopez, Khabib Allakhverdiev, Antonio DeMarco, Sadam Ali, and Humberto Soto. Vargas almost got the TKO against Bradley as the ref stopped the fight, but Top Rank's doctors rechecked his condition and let the fight go to the scorecards.

Mikey had lost to Errol Spence (24-0) and Sandor Martin (38-2).

Gervonta Davis (/dʒərˈvɒnteɪ/ jər-VON-tay; born 1994) is an American professional boxer. He has held multiple world championships in three weight classes, including the WBA (Regular) lightweight title since 2019; the IBF super featherweight title in 2017; the WBA (Super) super featherweight title twice between 2018 and 2021; and the WBA (Regular) super lightweight title in 2021. Davis is ranked as the second best active lightweight by BoxRec, third by ESPN, and Fifth by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board, and The Ring magazine. Known for his exceptional punching power, Davis' knockout-to-win percentage stands at 93%.

He has a record of 28-0 with wins over:

Cristobal Cruz (41-18)- Luisito Espinosa and Orlando Salido.
Jose Pedraza (22-0)- Tevin Farmer, Raymundo Beltran and Javier Molina.
Jesus Cuellar (29-1)- Juan Manuel Lopez, Vic Darchinyan and Jonathan Oquendo.
Liam Walsh (21-0)-Scott Harrison and Maxi Hugues.
    Hugo Ruiz (39-4)-Julio Ceja.
Yuriorkis Gamboa (30-2)-Orlando Salido, Daniel Ponce de Leon, Rene Alvarado, Jason Sosa, and Roman Martinez.
Leo Santa Cruz (37-1-1)- Abner Mares X2, Kiko Martinez and Carl Frampton.
Mario Barrios (26-0)- Batyr Akhmedov, Ryan Karl and Jovanie Santiago.
Rolando Romero (14-0)- Jackson Marinez and Anthony Yigit. (Somehow he is going to fight Alberto Puello soon)
Isaac Cruz (23-1)- Diego Magdaleno, Francisco Vargas, Yuriorkis Gamboa and Eduardo Ramirez.
Hector Garcia (16-3)- Chris Colbert and Roger Gutierrez.

I'm picking Garcia in this fight, he has the power and boxing ability to take Tank to a UD. 8-4 with some shaky moments.

I feel Davis catches him hard because Mikey is too one-dimensional, and Davis is too explosive, most guys are at a big disadvantage being short, with Davis it helps his cause big time because he gets in close fast.

One dimensional isn't the word I would use to describe Mikey, more like basic, but very fundamentally sound.

Both career ducks. Mikey avoided all the top competition throughout his career and sold his 0 in a no-hope fight vs Spence to cash out........Gervonta has avoided every reasonable threat in his division(s) to pick up meaningless secondary belts.

If they were to fight I hope they would both KO each other at the same time and by some weird unknown Queensberry rule they both get an L.

Garcia is past it. He also aint going below 147 again.

but ignoring that I dont see davis jumping to 147 in the next two years... davis is the better fighter at this stage by far.

But on showtime they call him a 5 time world champion or something. I think the only legit belts he picked up was the ibf and the wba that Santa cruz had.

If its hypothetical....i'd say a 235 pound Mikey Garcia beats down a 114 pound Gervontae Davis over nine 2 minute rounds for a unanimous split decision loss.

The TR Garcia starts favourite, the PBC Garcia does not. Garcia lost the hunger man, he looked a potentially special fighter at 126 and 130. He never looked the same after his hiatus IMO. Just looked like a fighter waiting to cashout and that’s what he did against Spence.

Yup. Tank has only been a real champion at 130 when he beat Pedraza and then again when he beat Santa Cruz.
