Comments Thread For: Anthony Joshua Says Next Fight Will Be in December, Describes It as 'Not Ideal'

Anthony Joshua apparently will remain a two-fight-per-year prizefighter. The former heavyweight champion from London seemed poised to break out of his long cycle of fighting twice a year this year, but that won't be the case, according to a post Joshua made on his social media.

AJ fighting 3 times a years was never realistic. I don’t think he’s fought twice in the same year since 2019.

Whyte in December, then the Fury cashout summer 2024 I reckon.

Am I the only one that thinks he looked awful with his new trainer? He needs someone that can put a sense of urgency on him. I wonder how he would look like with Roach as his trainer.

Who writes this garbage? I’d hardly call his win “dominant.”

He looked like he always looks. I thought maybe his jab looked a little more assertive but he was still pawing with it too much. I don't think any trainer is going to change how AJ fights when he's under pressure.

Nobody in their right mind would want to watch him in another poor fight against another poor opponent.......he certainly won't be missed!..

Probably a money thing. Network maybe doesn’t want to pay for another fight against a low-level person, putting him one step closer to finishing his deal but without actually fighting someone who moves the needle and can benefit the network.

and he probably doesn’t want to fight a mid level person that they would approve of because he knows he might lose and miss out on the BIG money v Fury / Wilder down the line.

                    that’s boxing.
