    Larry holmes Mobility ? .

How would you rate a young larry holmes mobility ? . I saw a young larry holmes up on his toes dancing against shavers and I think holmes looked ali like on his feet . I think a young holmes was very quick on his feet .

Holmes could move pretty good in his prime. He used to mimick Ali allot of the time during his fights and snake out the jab. He wasn`t what you`d call a natural mover but he learnt it well, well enough to win a round against a prime Tyson!

Holmes had average speed of foot in his prime but decent hand speed ( not super fast but decent ). I mean by Holmes not being a natural mover, is that Holmes used to jab then move, rather than jab while moving. Ali could punch in motion moving from either left or right but Holmes would have to stand still, then fire the jab, indicating that he wasn`t totally comfortable with this style.
The eighties was probably the worse heavyweight decade since the fifties. I guess Tyrell Biggs could move, until caught! But....the eighties was void of serious talent from 1985 till 1991 ( apart from Tyson, he was the only decent heavyweight till Holyfield, Bowe and lewis came along! )

Thanks for the reply . I have seen holmes against shavers and I think holmes was fast on his feet in that fight . Have you seen that fight ? . Also I think holmes was able to punch while he moved, do you disagree ? . You only rate holmes footspeed as being average do you not think he was quick on his feet ? .

his hands, jabs, that is, are better known for speed than his footwork
