Comments Thread For: Shakur Stevenson: I Think Tank's Way Too Much For Ryan; Honestly, Ryan's Not On That Level

Shakur Stevenson is convinced that he will eventually separate himself from every lightweight in boxing. The undefeated two-division champion is scheduled to make his debut at the 135-pound limit April 8, when he'll encounter Japan's Shuichiro Yoshino at Prudential Center in Stevenson's hometown of Newark, New Jersey (ESPN). Stevenson believes one of boxing's most established lightweights, Gervonta Davis, will knock out rival Ryan Garcia two weeks later in Las Vegas.

Read that slowly: “I don’t know how good Ryan is. ... But honestly, Ryan’s not on that level.”

        Shakur sounds jealous of Ryan..

he should cease discussing other dudes business because they never show any interest in bringing him up.

I understand that viewpoint. Garcia's footwork has ****** rather badly over his career (although it was noticably better in his last fight), he does weird **** like completely drops his opposite hand whenever he throws a hook, he even sometimes completely closes his eyes when he throws a punch.

But that size and range advantage could be a real issue for Tank. If Tank misgauges range, he could be caught. That left hook of Garcia's is genuinely nasty and extremely accurate, and if Tank is caught flush, being put to sleep is absolutely a possible outcome. Tank need to beware of the check left especially, I think.

Also Tank could get into trouble "downloading" for 6 or 7 rounds. Garcia is going to be busy, and while it's sort of hard to imagine this going the distance, I think I slightly favor Garcia if it does.

Most likely outcome is that Tank figures Garcia out in the later rounds and drops a bomb on him. But I will not be surprised if that doesn't happen.

HAHA please!! Jealous of what? Ryan couldn't see Stevenson on his best day. Ryan wouldn't get any where near Stevenson in the ring.

Let me translate. Ryan is pretty good but he's not on a Tank OR a Stevenson Level. We all know how it ends in the end for all Golden Boy fighters. This is a Zurdo Ramirez waiting to happen all over again.

Everyone's about to see why there are levels to this. At least Ryan will get a nice payday on TANK'S PPV. Too bad all his followers can't help him on fight night
