It's still not officially set, scheduled, or even signed. It does need to be announced if you're going to claim it's happening.

An announcement isn't any more official than the paperwork of a petition. An announcement just tells the public what the plans are. The fight can be cancelled following either or so "claiming" it's going to happen is a minor product to be arguing......unless you have an agenda/point to make.

Everyone knows that Thurman petitioned for a title shot. Spence holds a title at 147....yet his camp said that they were planning on attempting to have the Thurman/Spence fight at 154, thus the reason that user made his comment. That wasn't hard to understand. I don't see why you are creating an argument there.

This has to be the most contradicting response to all of this..... You don't see the Crawford/Spence fight happening even though a date has been announced......but you are telling people to "get ready" for a Spence/Thurman fight..... a fight in which Spence has said repeatedly he had no interest in well before Crawford had his first welterweight fight......

Thurman and Spence have been on the same promotional banner for almost a decade or so, yet Spence has only fought guys that lost to Thurman, not him personally.

You have to be the dumbest mfer in the world.... Custom glove.....mfer, every glove made for these fights are created for the specific fighter. ALL OF THEM ARE CUSTOM GLOVES. Including Avaneysan's. Did you think they went to ****'s Sporting Goods or order them from Eastbay?

The gloves are inspected by the commissioner, officials, and even a representative from the opposing camp before they are secured with the officials and never brought to any member of the camp until the following day when the fighter has to put them on.

It's reported an "official" announcement will be made during the Tank/Ryan fight....just like Teo/Taylor was announced this weekend during the Shakur/Yoshino ticket.

Go back and read the post and first understand what the conversation is pointing out.....

Telling people not to believe an unofficial announcement of Spence/Crawford, but telling people to believe an unofficial RUMOR of Spence/Thurman.... a fight that has openly been avoided before any mention of Spence/Crawford as a possibility.

I scan this forum once in a while..... There are an ABUNDANCE of forums that don't interest me and guess what....... You won't see me commenting in them. Not even to tell people that I don't care about them, because that's silly.

YOU clicked on the title of this thread because YOU had some interest in the conversation regarding the 2 individuals in the title.

Nobody asked you if you cared about the match up. They wouldn't have even thought twice about if you did or not if you would have just skipped passed the thread. Making an announcement that you don't care about something you willingly clicked on is laughable and silly. Just saying......

I guarantee you'll keep your ear to the street to hear updates on if the fight is going to happen. You'll watch the press conference, you'll watch the weigh ins. You may even place a bet on the fight. You definitely will and have more faith in it happening that you are portraying in this post.....Because if you didn't have any, why did you click on the link to participate in this post.....

There are many post I avoid because I don't waste thought on the match up like the threads about Thurman fighting Spence..... I had zero faith in that happening, but never tried notify a bunch of strangers that I had zero faith, because......why.....what's the point of that......even if EVERYONE believed it was going to happen.....so what.....

I don't bet. I've followed Spence since he wrapped up the Olympics run, so yeah I'll occasionally tune in to what's going on.

But I'm not going to hold my breath on a rumor until it is a for certain occurrence. Maybe will watch weigh ins and the all-access or whatever they call it now days.

But even now, Bleacher Report is reporting Spence v. Thurman is the matchup.

So, again, I'll believe it when they are actually in the ring and the ref says fight.
