Man, I was lookin for a good ight but didn't expect a knockout. Guess it was just like Hopkins said, Glen would beat Jones. I don't think Hopkins can look forward to a rematch with Roy, it's not gonna mean anything. And Roy sure as hell isn't getting a fight against Vitali, Tyson, or any of the big name heavyweights at this point. Man, I don't event think Tarver is interested in a rubber match now. And if he is, it's just to complete Roy's humiliation.

Read the description and did you get your answer?lol

I'm glad Glen Johnson shined when he finally got the opportunity to fight a big fight on HBO.This guy was way too underrated to begin with

BTW: When Johnson went after Jones early on,Steward called it "Amatuerish" LMAO!I didn't think the HBO crew even watched a Glen Johnson ever because they sounded like they thought Johnson would tire out at the pace he was goin.Or maybe they were making RJ look good since he is a HBO Fighter and one of their fellow commentator buddies.A little too bias IMO

Johnson shut them up bigtime...That put a smile on my face

First off all I can say is wow... This really makes me step back and wonder about all the things I have thought throughout Roy's career- when I praised him and when I doubted him alike... I picked Tarver to beat Jones in the rematch, and I thought he beat him in their first bout- but never did I expect that Johnson would be able to KO Jones so vicously! I had talked about the possability that Jones could be hesitent and therefore get outpointed by the hungry and slightly underrated Johnson- but I did not think he had the power to knock Roy out!

Is the big lightheavy fight out there Tarver/Johnson right now? And if it is, who would you favor in that matchup?

I'll watch the fight tonight on the bbc in the UK, just seen the clip of the KO though.
I'm not a RJ lover or hater, my thing with fighter's is I can appreciate them whether they are truly world class or not, eg I like to watch alot of so called club fighters or journeymen cos some of them know their limit's but show such heart and determination they fight their balls off in each fight to try to get the win.
I thought Johnson beat woods both times in the UK and feel out of his last 8 'losses' he should of got the nod in probably at least 6 of them, so Johnson is world class but as he put it after the fight he isn't no 1 at 175 but he's very willing to get in there and have a go.
Johnson Vs Tarver will be a good match, Tarver is more talented but has a low workrate and for me not loads of heart, so it's 50/50.
I rate Jones, I think he's been a good fighter and has just grown very old very quickly ala Bowe, so he need's to retire and go play with his cluckers.
Really though who's he got left to fight any big name would probably KO him.
            Bye Bye RJ

Dr cynical will you ever shut up?
I am reading these posts and every second one is you saying how much you love to see jones finished.
We get the point you hate Jones, Jones was an awesome talent I don't think any other fighter has those kind of raw skills.
I respect you don't like Jones but do you have to go on and on about it?

                  The guy is pure ****.
Sure he had raw skills, but he never had the heart or will or anything to actually go out and improve those skills or actually shut his ****ing mouth and focus on boxing.
He relied on his raw skills and when those started to fade he got ****ed up.
He thinks he's a "rap star", well now that he's ****ed in the head and probably sounds like a ******, he really will be a "rap star".
If you don't like what I'm typing about Jones or Toney or anyone else, don't read it.
                  Just skip it.
Don't ***** and moan about it like "Jackin stiffs".
Just like you have the right to praise Jones and feel sorry for his loss, I have the right to insult him and feel happy for his loss.

These are my thoughts of last nights fight that I am repeating from another thread:

This was hands down the fight of the year so far!

The fight was great! Nonstop action. both guys were landing lots of shots. Johnson was throwing furiously. Jones was more measured with his shots, but he was scoring with lots of powerful, clean body shots, as well as head shots as the fight progressed.

It was very disappointed to see Roy go down like that. He clearly was not the old Roy in terms of speed and movement. In his prime, most of Johnsons punches would have missed. Roy needs to forget Tarver.

But it doesn't necessarily mean he's finished. Honestly, I don't think Jone's optimum weight is lightheavy. He could move down to Supermiddle and continue a successful career for several more years if he wanted too.

I also feel fairly certain he could still defeat BH. Maybe that should be his last big bout. He could then retire on an impressive win if he so desires.

I'd prefere not to see the greatest fighter of the last 15 years go out like this, but even if he does he is still a HOF boxer, who had unreal skills in his prime.

When he beat everyone with his raw skills, why did he need the heart that you say he lacked?
