Mosley fighting Mayweather back then wouldn't meen anything. Mosley was looking for other fights against real W.W. fighting Mayweather who wasn't popular enough would've been a stepped back in the wrong direction.

Mayweather was perhaps looking for a bigger name to be in the spotlight after fighting De La hoya he got his wish. Like PRINCSHERPY said it the same as Paul Williams asking Mayweather to fight him. Although you can't blame him for trying. Theres no reason for Williams to take it personal and Mayweather shouldn't have taken it that way either, but he uses it as an excuse.

All I am saying is, SSM is 38 now... he is coming to the end of his career, don't you think its really weird how he wants to fight any of the two biggest names in Boxing (Floyd and Manny) and has been bitching and moaning about them constantly... the guy just wants a few more big paydays before he retires... if it was about anything else wouldn't he have fought Floyd when both where in there best weight classes and primes were the fight would have meant much more and been much more legacy enhancing?

At the end of the day, both guys are to blame if the fight never happens, cause when Floyd pushed for the fight twice 7 years between each other... Shane wasn't interested... he wanted to go onto different things, when Shane is pushing for the fight... Floyd has lost interest, at the end of the day we can't just blame one person if the fight doesn't happen, that would be biased... you gotta blame both guys cause at the end of the day when both guys were interested the other one wasn't, that is the way it should be thought and looked at as.

Mayweather had just fought Gatti and Mosley wasn't waiting on him. He had enough time without a fight and Mayweather takes too much time between fights. Fighting that guy on time set up his fight with Vargas at 154.
