Comments Thread For: Jermaine Franklin: We Got A Chin Of Steel; Not Worried Too Much About Joshua's Power

Jermaine Franklin isn't concerned about Anthony Joshua adding 10-plus pounds of muscle to an already chiseled physique. The former IBF, IBO, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion came in at a career-high 255 pounds Friday for their 12-round fight Saturday night at O2 Arena in London. Joshua stepped on the British Boxing Board of Control's scale 10 1/2

I think Franklin is being underestimated, I'll put a bet on him to win by stoppage.

I’ve done the same - the odds were too good to ignore, and generally Joshua has struggled more against shorter fighters. Here’s hoping! £££

I agree, and that's how Franklin will ultimately get hurt and stopped. Franklin's only hope is that Joshua gets sloppy like he did against Ruiz.

I've got a feeling Franklin will be wiped out in this fight. He claims to have a chin of steel but he was hurt bad against a washed Whyte. I think people are overrating him because he looked decent against a mediocre Whyte. Joshua has more concussive power and a ramrod jab to setup the big shots and under Derek James I think he will look much more explosive than against the defensive wizard Usyk. Just think, AJ was able to win a few rounds against Usyk and catch him with a few clean shots. Franklin is there to be hit and will be hit much more often.

I agree but Franklin's hands are much slower than Ruiz's.

Best thing this lad can do is either stay in extremely close, and I mean chest to chest, or go long range and stick and move. It’s the mid range where olawufemi will hurt him
