A lot of those smaller promotions have handshake agreements with Top Rank. It's why Bob is able to put on so many shows in separate countries. He has a similar arrangement up here with EOTM. It's how he's able to get guys like Beterbiev and Mbilli from Canada or Murata, Inoue and Suzuki in Japan

Sane post. I see Loma, being just a different breed, outskilling Haney. This is a betting man's fight. Go with Loma on this. Haney has significant physical advantages (age, height, reach), but Loma remains the more gifted boxer and has the higher IQ. Most importantly, and nobody is talking about this, is that Haney will not be able to deploy his most effective tactic against Loma. Haney employs the jab and grab to frustrating perfection. He feints, jabs, then swoops in and hugs his opponents shoulders and holds on for dear life. Wash, rinse, repeat. Few fighters can contend with this tactic, but, Loma has no actual shoulders to grab, so he's going to be a slippery snake in the ring. Haney isn't going to have a clue what is going on until its too late. Lomachenko U12 Haney. Bet on it.Comment

I think that there are also other factors to take into account. For example, Haney typically fights orthodox fighters. When he fights southpaws, his most powerful weapon disappears—the jab. The jab lines up on the same line, so Haney uses it as a probe, control and measuring tool. Haney beat up Linares and Kambosos with the jab. But what's going to happen when he can't jab anymore? Check compubox for the Haney vs JoJo fight. Diaz out-jabbed Haney. That's statistically provable. So if Haney can't employ his best weapon, this fight might not look like how the majority are predicting. This is a betting man's fight. Go with Loma on this. Commey also did some holding in the Loma fight. Didn't work out for him. We'll soon see how expert Haney is in his holding skill in front of Loma. Nakatani is 5'11" plus huge reach, but unable to capitalize such advantage. Same thing with Campbell.
You know the strange part? I can't even say Haney is no Commey. Or Haney is not Nakatani, Haney is not Campbell. Why, because we don't even know if Haney would beat those guys.
As opposed to being able to safely say Loma is no Jojo Diaz, Loma is no Gamboa, Loma is no Kambosos, Loma is no semi-retired Linares...Comment

Lopez vs Nakatani was a very competitive fight. "No more tall guys for me dad."Commey also did some holding in the Loma fight. Didn't work out for him. Name someone else who has 15 world championship bouts in his 19 total fights? Your handle is Boxviewer but you don't know what your seeing. As is, he gets into the hall of fame easy. If he beats Haney, we will be having a different conversation. You guys have seriously devalued the HOF status. HOF used to be reserved for guys who have proven themselves in tons of real battles. Now a guy who has lost 2 out of only 17 fights and didn't beat elite fighters at their prime is being associated with HOF. Norms are watered down in this era.Comment

Well, we will immediately know which Lomachenko we are watching if he comes out in the first round and throws no punches at all with a high guard.
I might immediately tune out of I see him at any moment do that s/hit in the fight against Haney.Comment

That's a good point. And Haney will need to make sure any jab he throws isn't a half-assed probing thing. I don't know if Loma's footwork is still fast enough to help him slip outside a lazy jab, but he'll want to work at mid-range to nullify Haney's reach..... Haney typically fights orthodox fighters.
