with no geniune prospects and the decrease of american fighters, who tend to fight at heavyweight, the division is likely to remain insipid for a while. i think the whole concept of boxing losing popularity is because of the weak hw division. it's always been the prepotent division amongst fans, but it's telling that the lower weight classes are breaking ppv records and filling that hole. it's likely for the lower weight classes will be accepted the way the hw division used to be.
