Comments Thread For: Jermall Charlo Considers John Ryder a "Good" Opponent For Canelo Alvarez

Canelo Alvarez has prided himself on facing the best of the best. However, after revealing that his next bout will take place against John Ryder, the Mexican star has been thrown under the bus. The 32-year-old pound-for-pound luminary will officially square off against the British native on May 6th, in a homecoming bout in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.

Ryder is a better opponent than folks are giving him credit for, he can fight in the pocket, this fight will go the distance, canelo will squeak it because he is Mexican, ryder is worth a bet for a win, I say this because you im happily delusional

I don't understand what the problem is? Ryder is the WBO Interim Champion, and he's Canelo's mandatory!

Ryder has earned his shot and he's no walkover.

If the Saul stans and CONelo cawksuckers agree that Ryder earned his shot, they should be saying the same sh.it about Benavidez.

Charlo still trying to skip the line straight to a Canelo fight so he's gotta say nice things about Canelo but it ain't happening. Benavidez is available right now, he can take that fight. Canelo made his plans known already, Ryder then Bivol. Who ever wins btw Charlo, Benavidez or Morell round robin deserves a canelo shot after that but we all Charlo is going nowhere near those two.

If Ryder has earned the shot, Benavidez has earned it even more.

Charlo has made his feelings known that he would love to move straight into mega clashes against the likes of Demetrius Andrade, Canelo Alvarez, Gennadiy Golovkin, or new recent hot commodity, David Benavidez.

This is a fight for Canelo to win back the Mexican fans with a win on his home turf during Cinco De Mayo weekend. Nothing more. He is trying to build back his confidence and fan base. Where he goes from there is all that matters. He can no longer dismiss Benavidez by insisting he won’t fight Mexican fighters, that excuse won’t sit well with Mexican or American fans. After he beats Ryder, he needs to give Benevidez his shot or surrender his belts.
