So people streaming overpriced PPV cards that have no business being on PPV in the first place is destroying boxing?
All that tells me is the PPV system is an old and outdated model that should be thrown in the trash. PPV used to be reserved for major, significant bouts. Now they take garbage match ups and call them PPV to try to make a quick money grab, but your average fan doesn’t have the means to pay for all of those. No. Not me. I’m not falling for that bullsh#t. Especially when inflation is at like what, 8%???? And you want me to buy Benevitez vs Plant? Lmao. Benevitez vs Plant is a good match, but it’s wasn’t even for a belt!
Illegal streaming isn’t the issue here. Boxing just needs a major overhaul. Expensive, numerous, and insignificant PPV’s isn’t the answer.
Create a major governing body that oversees the entire sport. Create a union for boxers. Then, and only then, will the sport start to become better.

this is the same crying when p2p first started, the whole entertainment industry was crying about it being the end of movies and music. Are illegal streams destroying the UFC? What's destroying boxing is that there are no crossover stars, and the stars we have are too scared to fight each other.

dont know how the system works in america but in UK sports fans are already paying a subscription and on top of that then they ask for PPV fees for boxing. So with my subscription i can watch the champions league final but if i want to watch a domestic level fight like smith v eubank or a one sided fight like fury v chisora 3 they want me to pay 20 quid on top of it. I will pay what i feel is right otherwise i'm streaming it. i would/will pay to watch tank/garcia but not interested in throwing money away at garbage, also some of the money these boxers are on is ridiculous compared to other sports and MMA, shouldnt be getting paid millions to fight some bum. problem is a lot of fans act like they are their favourite fighters accountants.

Wtf isn’t the ufc in shambles ?
Why is it that they build their characters on free tv and then and only after the fan or casual know the fighter ( meaning he fights on free tv before ) they put him on some ppv ?
They’re still making a chit load of money but even that will run out for the greedy ps etc etc etc

Agree there are some ppv that I wouldn't buy as they don't merit it . I for one listened to the Tyson Fury v Chisora fight on the radio as for me that certainly never merited a ppv .It's a crying shame how this fight gets made and the one as other users have alluded to and I was desperate for( Fury v Uysk) doesn't .

It's the point in principle. Without fans there would be no professional boxing. It's the thin edge of the wedge . If everyone started illegal streaming there would be far less money in the pot and fighters could start looking at other professions. I know from reading about it's happened to a degree already with athletes being turned away from boxing to sports like basketball for one as there's more money to be made especially with scholarships and the like.
