Unfortunately, I don't see any 'big draws' or 'future ATGs' in the horizon...Golden Boy Promotions was counting on Victor Ortiz...Yeah, we know what happened there...Juan Manuel Lopez is not like his fellow countrymen, Miguel Cotto, who is willing to take risks and fight the best...Although, Juan Manuel is considered more charismatic...Chad Dawson is unfortunately in a very weak light heavyweight era, so there is no way for him to prove his worth or show his skill set against mediocre fighters (yes, there is Cloud, but he hasn't been tested in deep waters as of the moment, and let's be honest, Clinton Woods, was not a test)...Kelly Pavlik got dismantled by BHop....And in all honesty, I don't see why there is so much fuss about Nonito Donaire...Yes, he put Vic to sleep, but that is one win...and after his most recent performance, I don't see anything special except that since he is a Filipino, the Philippines is trying to find that next great hope (yep, Viloria, Z Gorres, & Banal all failed to live up to the unreachable heights of the Pacman, and don't get me started on Boom Boom Bautista...)...Then you have this SMW tourney...Come on, none of these guys are a big draw...Dirrell, Taylor, Froch, Abraham, etc...No superstar to be found...Ivan Calderon is stuck in the lower weight classes, which makes Pacman so special...dude has titles in six weight classes starting in the lower classes up to jr. welterweight, 4 lineal titles, but as usual, I digress! Andre Berto shows signs of greatness, but has yet to show that consistent heart of a warrior (i.e. watch his 'clinch' fest with Urango)...Paul Williams is a freak of nature in regards to his punch output, size, etc...but just isn't a big draw to the fans...that may be due to fighters ducking him, so maybe it's not his fault directly...

It's unfortunate that when Cotto, Pac, Marquez, Mayweather, & you can even include Mosley into this mix, that the future is not looking too bright in regards to that one superstar that can carry boxing for the next generation...Don't get me wrong...I hope the 'next big thing' will come along, but I just don't see that happening...But even so, I hope there will be some memorable wars that will take place!

I watched a lot of Rigandeux in the amateurs and the guy is special i honestly think he could win a strap right now he is already a polished pro.

So Pavlik got outboxed while recovering from a flu by a much more experienced defensive great and he's worth nothing??

I wrote a p4p list on another thread and I was actually tempted to put Kessler in the top 10 but i thought everyone woulda thought i was crazy and Bute needs finish better in his rematch with andrade.

I like Bute he is very slick and i think his stamina issues will continue to get better,Kessler on the other hand is harder for me to decide on will see what happens in the supersix.

Hmm, I don't know man. If you include America, I don't think Donaire would be it simply because to fans he's too small and probably won't ever go past Bantamweight. I like the guy, but I just don't see it happening.

It's fairly unquestionable that JuanMa is the next great Puerto Rican hero. I don't know how far he'll go, but he's got the ability, look, and charisma to be their national icon.

Some prospects could blow up like Lara, Korobov, Jacobs, or Fernando Guerrero in the future. The only difference between marketable fighters who get all of the attention and the ones who don't is the lack of opportunity. If the up and comers put in their time, they will eventually shine when the spotlight is available and the top fighters of the present exit.

Boxing will never be without any stars at all.
