Margarito did use his uncanny ability to dehydrate down. His large size gave NON elite fighters hell. What he doesnt have that David has is quick hands and uncanny timing. David is very accurate

Margarito has wins over Sergio Martinez, Antonio Diaz, 6 Head lewis, Cintron, Clottey, and Cotto at his peak.

We all know that Benavidez can beat on cans and feather fisted guys like Plant but when he can prove to overcome all levels and styles as Margo did, then we can make make a better assessment.

Right now, Margo shts all over him..

Yeah , at this point I’d go with Margarito
Benavidez hasn’t done much to surpass Antonio and chances are he might never if his career continues the way it has

Margarito was a caveman compared to Benavidez. David has fast hands, with more power, better defense and can box. He will prove he is on another level.

There is still time for Benavidez, he is currently 26 years old and for now has accumulated two good wins over World Champions. Let's see how his career will pan out for now. Errol Spence didn't get any big fights until he was 27 years old, yet he has a stellar record.

Is only a matter of time before he faces Morrell, Canelo, Jermall/Andrade, Joe Smith Jr, Callum Smith, Zurdo Ramirez, Marcus Brown, Anthony Yarde, Paulo Aokuso, Joshua Buatsi, and Dimitry Bivol. Not saying he is going to fight every fighter listed or that he win every fight though.

Would have mentioned Beterviev as another viable candidate but he just turned 38, by the time David moves up he be too old or would be retired.

he didn't have fast hands but he had fast feet.

david has fast hands but slow feet. for example, Sergio Martinez that Margarito stopped would beat David. Nightmare match-up
