F*** this guy. He lost that fight and the whole world saw it. That historically has meant more than the official verdict. Good luck trying to get past the controversy without accepting (not giving) a rematch from Valenzuela.
Comments Thread For: Colbert Says 'F--- No' To Valenzuela Rematch; Wants Second Shot At Hector Luis Garcia

It was a close fight that could have gone either way. Colbert responded to getting knocked down in the first, by showing that he was the more skilled boxer and had the better movement, possibly getting more pointed shots in per round. But, Rayo landed the more powerful blows that created bigger moments, so he has an argument that he believes that he won.
I would love to see them in a rematch, but I also understand what Colbert is saying. Chris stated before the fight that he was moving up for this fight, to challenge himself against a tough opponent, that also was coming off a loss in which he was heavily favored, and then, he would go after the Garcia rematch.
Immediately after the fight, he was trying to be on a good level of respect with Rayo and was asking if he wanted to run it back, but Valenzuela was cursing at him and telling him that he lost. At that point, its up to the fighters to work it out or move on. Colbert felt disrespected, and he now wants to deny Rayo that opportunity that he originally offered. That's within his right to do so.Comment

Dude had 8 KOs in 13 total fights, against bums. Where did you come to the conclusion that he's a "powerful puncher"? Colbert stinks, he lost the fight and he'd lose the rematch too.It was A close fight. I'm not gonna holler ROBBERY like many of the less educated morons in these forums.
Should he run it back? I'd say yes since its customary in these instances where the decision is controversial.
With that said... Colbert fought a bigger guy at a higher weight class In his first fight at the weight, a raw but powerful puncher like Rayo at that. That Takes balls.
I wouldn't be mad if he went back down to avenge his Loss against Hector Garcia. Another tough fight for him.Comment

Its not called the fight game because they like each other and they're going to act nice to each other. If that's the reasoning, why fight at all after they talk trash at the weigh in? A rematch, in this case, is a money maker. Better than a guy who just got his face broke by Tank, might never fight again, even if he is friendly. It was a close fight that could have gone either way. You could say that about Rayo as well considering he is the bigger man and the harder puncher. Personally i think Rayo was "exposed" more than Colbert. Having said that I thought Rayo squeaked it.Originally posted by -Kev-;n31789903Colbert isnt very good, let alone elite. Garcia and Rayo proved to better than him. He wont last long, someones going to send him to hell with a brutal KO eventually.
I also believe the controversy should sell a second fight.Comment
