Bayliss has been terrible for a while. He was even worse in the Josh Taylor Vs Ramirez fight. Protected Ramirez like crazy. Given him like 20 seconds to recover for each KD. He's always trying to insert himself into the fight with his bloody jazz hands
Breaking way too early when inside. This is now the norm for him. Get him out of the game.
He's a bodyguard posing as a ref. Like Mother Hen looking after his chicks Time to retire, he's 71 for God's sake. A camera hog to the max. Always needs to be the star of the show whenever. he refs. All his open hand surrendering gesture throughout a fight,looking like someone being threatened.
"What I say you must Obey"
When a ref creates a catchphrase that's a clear sign that he's a bit too full of himself. Note to refs, we don't pay to see you ref
His positioning is also terrible, he almost got KTFO by Benavides on occasions.. Stands too close to the fighters distracting them. He lacked authority throughout.
It speaks volumes about the NSAC if they still view Bayless as their best referee but then this is the NSAC that said Adelaide Byrd was "one of their best judges"

His style has always been a meddler never been any different, if they hold he jumps right on in and warns the aggressive roughhouse fighter, on the flip side you have refs like Steve Smoger who would hardly ever break them, it's all subjective and the chances of corruption is slim this is why fighters will want refs that suit their style because they know how he is going to handle the fight, we have lots of bad referees and judges in boxing, every time they get it wrong they were paid off is getting a bit old, they were just doing their job poorly.
I think a great ref should stay away as much as possible, I hate these refs that grandstand to warn somebody about some trivial BS and break the flow to do it, incompetent.Comment

Kenny Bayless had a bad night refereeing that fight. In addition, he kept interfering. Plus the judges awarded Ramirez all of the close rounds, and the commentators were clearly more excited when Jose landed than when Josh did. Clinching is a part of boxing, there wasn't anything unusual about it. I thought commentators were way more off their game then Kenny Bayless. Benavidez had every opportunity to stop Plant, throwing more than one punch at a time would have helped his cause.Comment
