I don't think any less of him for crying, he was clearly having a painful and emotional moment.

I do however find it remarkable he was so let down and crushed after failing in front of his family, when he turned in such a pathetic and laughable attempt into his training camp. I hope it was a realization of 'what could have been' or at least 'could have done a hell of a lot better', as opposed to crying like a child cause he just flat out lost.

He never shoulda taken on such a formidable opponent. It's his own fault. But I understand his emotions, its not easy to see your dream smashed to pieces. Cheer up son, you'll get another chance.

Against Valuev he'd probably win. Shame that coward Haye got the shot first.

I have said it repeatedly before, most people on the internet don't know **** about sports or the competitive nature of it. They are just fans or spectators, because if you really played or know what its like to train your @ss off and put your heart and soul into something, then you wouldn't make comments like people make on here.

Crying doesn't make you lesser of a man, it just shows how much you care. I rather see Areola like that, then all nonchalant like he didn't just get his ass beat.

Jordan cried after he won a championship after his dad died
Kobe and his whole team was in tears when they lost the conference finals to the spurs a couple of years ago.
Floyd was in tears when he beat De La Hoya

I could go on and on. Point is we you put your heart and soul into something win or lose, majority of people will be very emotional afterwards. Chris was just down because he felt he let his family, country and fans down...which is very understandable.

Yeah, but the people you mentioned crying were doing so either out of huge huge elation, or a loss comprable to mourning; having poured their hearts and souls, as a team, into a goal, and seeing it slip from their hands.

Arreola is nothing like either of these, in fact he fits into the catagory you described in your first paragraph. Look at the shape he came into the fight at, you cannot say at all that he put his heart and soul into this fight or that he trained his ass off.

So in that manner, I have no sympathy for him. I do however respect his tenacity in the fight, and the fact he was emotionally destroyed having his family witness his demise.

well I'm not saying you or anyone should be sympathetic towards him. I'm just saying I understand why he was in the emotional state he was in.

Yeah, but this is Boxing....this is fighting. Many don't expect their "Men" to cry, Win or Lose.

I think it is understandable why someone in the fight game would cry after a Win or Loss because of the intensity level they experience all through training and in the fight. With the results, win or lose after an exhausting battle and maybe a surprising result or a result they only dreamt of...emotions can take over.
However, that said, they are PRO Level Fighters and Crying isn't expected. Amateurs maybe, but not PRO level fighters. That is where discipline comes in and that is what is supposed to separate the Men {Pro} from the boys {amateur}. Now, that doesn't mean that they can't cry or won't cry at all after the result because I suspect many have after a loss except it would be BEHIND CLOSED DOORS. Most, if not all, probably have the feeling to cry after a major loss/upset but that doesn't mean they should start crying in front of everybody. Bottle that **** up and go cry in the tub after. "Be A Man"

I personally felt awkward when Floyd cried all those times. It's not like he beat Sugar Ray Robinson or anything. BE A MAN. Hold your composure.

I don't remember any of these Boxers crying in front of the cameras:

Joe Louis could have started to cry after his major upset loss to Max Schmeling, but he didn't. Or his rematch Win over Max which had a lot of pressure being placed on him. BE A MAN.

Ali could have cried his eyes out after his loss to Frazier, but he didn't. BE A MAN.

Foreman could have cried after his loss to Ali, but he didn't. BE A MAN.

Tyson could have cried his eyes out after his loss to Douglas, but he didn't. BE A MAN.

Lennox being knocked out by McCall in an upset. BE A MAN.

Wladamir major upset loss to Sanders in Germany. BE A MAN.

Vitali's corner stopping the fight despite him not wanting to stop...in a fight he felt he was so close to accomplishing his dream to be a legit Champion by beating a HOF fighter in Lennox Lewis. BE A MAN.

YOU LACK DISIPLINE. CONTROL YOUR EMOTIONS. BOTTLE THAT **** UP AND SAVE IT FOR LATER ON YOUR OWN PERSONAL TIME.
                    BE A MAN.
