I vaguely recall reading somewhere it was 160, not sure how they would figure it out without knowing the weight of everyone other than guessing based on little data.
Welterweight to middleweight seems most appropriate. Higher than that, you're dealing with people who'd he regarded as big. Lower than that, you're dealing with people who would be regarded as small.
If we only take the male population. On a bell curve, I'd say at least 50% of men height would fall between 5'7" and 6'2". Most boxers between that height range fight between 140'-147ish to 168lbs, so to have a round number, I'd say around 160lbs.
