Does It Really Matter THAT MUCH If We Have An American Heavyweight Champ Or Not?

Eddie Chambers is a fucking bore. I'm not gonna root for him just because we share the same country of origin. Honestly, I don't give a fuck if the champ is from U.S., The Isle of Man, Vietnam, who cares? I don't care if boxing is ever huge in America. Have you guys watched a sports report on boxing lately?

    "Michael Kat.....kat......I can't say this. Kat-say-eed-ees? Kat-saw-ed-is?"

"Chris John was also on the card. Finally a name I can pronounce."

"In tonight's MMA matchup from Las Vegas, Floyd Mayweather defeated Juan Marquez to move to 4 and 0."

I couldn't give a **** if we never have another US Heavyweight TITLIST, let alone a legitimate champion.

    I don't care.

The only people that do are people that suffer from latent xenophobia and are desperately hanging on to the so called "golden era" of HW's.

Which is bull**** anyway since Cuba and Russia weren't allowed to compete in that period.

For all we know Ali and Frazier weren't that great, they were big fish in a small pond.

I personally find both bro's very good and entertaining to watch, Vitali especially.

You don't but you're in the small minority sadly. The vast majority of the rest of Americans do care. Alot.

Want proof? Go find the thread posted today of ESPN's poll from today that asked "Is boxing dead?"

Virtually every single answer that said "Yes" was mapped to the U.S. while every single "No" was mapped to Europe and the rest of the world. Why? Because Euros are winning for once and U.S. are getting owned.

A champ is a champ...Where they come from is irrelevant.

I'm a proud Klitschko's fan. They are dominating the HW division in a scary way, they look unbeatable.

I never cared about an American HW, I don't care about race period. I'm not African-American, I'm not Ukranian, I'm not Mexican, I'm not German, but it doesn't mean that i'm not gonna root for a boxer of these races just cause they're not from where i'm from. Boxing is an international sport and you gotta learn to appreciate a good fighter when you see one, no matter what his color is or where he's from.

The bold is of course if you're a boxing fan. Casual fans root for and defend fighters from their country only. I don't even have to name names cause mostly everyone knows who these posters are.

it isn't that your average American boxing fan cares TOO much about a non American Heavyweight... Its that they don't care enough

                    Sad, but true story.

But I will say that if HBO embraced the Klitschko's more, and stopped mentioning how the HW division is in a lull and needs a defribilator and all this nonsense, then maybe they wouldn't be bringing about the self-fulfilling prophecy that they put into effect with their irresponsible announcing.
