  • Comments Thread For: Benavidez On Plant's Gravedigging Gesture: Little Does He Know, He's Digging His Own Grave

LAS VEGAS - David Benavidez noticed Caleb Plant performed the same gravedigging motion during their open workout Wednesday that Plant made right after he knocked Anthony Dirrell unconscious five months ago.

I sure as heck did not think that gravedigging thing was cool. I also really do not like what comes out of Plant's mouth. He seems like that dude in high school you hated to hate because he was such a douche that you couldn't even love to hate him. I would love to see Benavidez knock him silly. I think it would be great for boxing and future fights.

Good line from David. He was back to his normal self this press conference, pretty chill. Time to destroy is close. I saw him taking photos with Tyson today. Time to perform.

You hate to hate Plant? Maybe you're really a fan then?

Plant has this negative vibe around him. He even managed to get under Canelo's skin. Maybe he's a weasel behind the scenes and acting humble in front of the camera - something like AJ. David really sounds & looks like a humble guy but guessing Caleb struck a nerve.

About that gesture, kinda understandable, after Dirrell was talking major smack to Plant, and then got ko'd with one punch.

Remember when Canelo humiliated David Benavidez and said Who is Juan Mexico? He fights nobody! Canelo then says to reporter bringing up Benavidez don't disrespect me please then walks off. He literally took the biggest dump on David Benavidez like he took a dump on Demetrius ANdrade except Andrade got the worst. Their in the same weight and category compete in, Benavidez will not forget the humiliation that Canelo gave him. The Benavidez family name been dragged and tossed under the bus by Alverez family it must boil the Benavidez family to try and get the win vs plant? Whatever happens in march 25th is gonna be super crazy with both Benavidez and Plant having extreme bad blood.

To finish my previous comment Canelo has not done this to fellow Mexicans like Alfredo Angulo or Josesito Lopez in his younger years. I think Canelo being in Superstar status made him not consider fighting another mexican again especially Benavidez with huge height that can carry him to Light Heavyweight.

I personally don't like Plant. The gravedigging was in bad taste, people die in the sport. He's been riding on that Dirrell KO like he knocked out a prime up comer in the division.
No, he KO's a washed up, almost 40 yo Dirrell.

Didn't like the way he was talking to Canelo, calling him a b*tch at the conference and then Reynoso a "fat b*tch". He showed no respect at all for the P4P King (at the time anyways) and his team.

He never tried unifying when he was champ but at the press conference vs Canelo, he was talking about how being undisputed champ was his "destiny" and the hard work he put in all those year was finally gonna pay off.

The only "hard work in those years" he was making was mediocre defenses of his belt while Canelo was collecting the all the belts one by one.
He kept bringing up the fact that he grew up poor in Tenesee and nobody gave him anything, trying to get people to feel sorry for him.
Glad Canelo called him out saying that everyone has a sob story. Not like Canelo didn't grow up poor in Mexico but you don't see him bring it up at every press conference.
Plus big diff growin up poor in the states vs Mexico.

                    Go Benavidez!
