Gesta should stay active and wait until Haney vacates if he wants Zepeda. I don't think Gesta makes it past 5rds but this way he will at least lose going for a title. If Gesta wants a trinket he could fight for the IBO title.

Since they already announced Zepeda vs. Arboleda, then it's Schofield vs. Gesta! Looking like a nice card!

It's the opposite. Schofield needs to avoid Gesta for now. Mercado was nailing Schofield who was a sucker for clean left hands and Mercado is no where near as fast as Gesta, among other things whose southpaw style would give fits to Schofield at this point in their careers. One is looking for bigger names or a title and the other ones needs more seasoning.

If I were him and I wanted to fight a 'name' , I would go for Abner Mares.

man i thought Gesta was going to be a lot better than he turned out when he was coming up.. he was like a little Pacman clone, but time has a way of catching up with us all as he doesn't have much time left in the game now sadly as he's just gonna be fodder for younger up n comers but it was good to see him pick up a signature win on the backend of his career. Hopefully Gesta can build up enough momentum for 1 last big payday.
