Anyway, I 'm glad Benavidez finally got the fight that he wanted, and we're getting good fights this year.
It all goes back to Als attachment to Mayweather, and haters are a very shallow bunch of people with generational feud mentality.

Haters are such a sorry bunch of losers, you feel like burning them but they really need a teddy bear and security blanket.

In the beginning of PBC, I was positive and supportive about their endeavor. They had substantial resources: the talent, broadcasting partners, and investors to pull off the coup of raising boxing back to its former heights, and they lacked the vision to bring it to another level.

I've said that PBC builds bridges to nowhere because they're matchmaking without a purpose. Benavidez dominated Lemieux and is clearly ready for a fight like Plant, then he sits on the sidelines for months, to the point that he's openly sulking about his career and pondering moving up in weight, then he's offered Uzcategui. Why? What's the purpose of Benavidez-Uzcategui other than keeping them both active and fed?

Benavidez is a star talent that is ready to build his own stardom, not sit on the sidelines waiting for Canelo to grant him a shot at potentially becoming one.

For comparison, Gary Antuanne Russell is a top prospect/contender with an action style at 140 and already has good victories over dangerous vets like Postol and Barthelemy (the latter a fight that he didn't even ****ing need, almost as pointless as Benavidez-Uzcategui), yet his popularity lags far behind guys like Arnold Barboza Jr. (Top Rank) and Montana Love (Matchroom). That's a microcosm of what's taking place there. PBC needs to get their **** together.

Is it possible that the PBC fighters like the fact that they can avoid tough fights and still get paid? Who wouldn't like getting paid taking the easy route?

How is it the easy route when they have a better stable of fighters than Matchroom and GBP? Top Rank is close in comparison, and they have made fights with them in the past except for Crawford, but that was both parties dropping the ball. But for the most part, their fighters offer the toughest competition.

Just take a look at what they offered so far already this year and the fights lined up until July, and tell me who else compares to this. Even from 2019 until now, many of the top fighters were facing each other and bringing us good fights. It takes both companies to make it happen when fighters under different promotional banners want to fight, so why is it that the finger of this site only points the blame one way when it doesn't happen? I 'm just looking for good fights no matter who is the advisor or promotional company.

”You’re just looking for good fights.” I respect that; and I’m in favor of the growth of boxing and part of that is building up fighters like Benavidez to high profiles and building and making great fights.

Benavidez mentioned Haymon offering Uzcategui and David insisting on Plant. It’s an example of PBC’s lack of vision and mismanagement of resources. Benavidez is a beast, who’s popularity is increasing, he has a dominant performance against Lemieux, yet they had him on the shelf with no clarity about his future until he publicly complained and contemplated moving to 175; and when they did contact him, they offered him Uzcategui.

PBC running their ship like that is bad for the growth of boxing. Is Benavidez-Uzcategui a good fight? It probably is, but it has no anticipation, does nothing to buildup a future matchup, and it does nothing for David’s career. There’s time for those fights during the prospect to contender phase, rebuilding after a loss, or a lull in title defenses phase of a career, but to offer that fight now is a glimpse of how clueless PBC is building fighters to reach that next level.

They’re making random PBC matches, while their fighters’ career stagnates or falls. Charlo-Hurd was a layup PBC fight that they never got made; a great, anticipated fight that never got made. We just got Charlo-Harrison and Hurd-Williams in its stead. Things like that is why PBC is where it is.

PBC offering Benavidez the Uzcategui fight wasn't because of a lack of vision or bad match making, it was simply because he was the highest ranked name that hadn't turned down the fight already. You have to remember, no matter how it may appear, these promoters and advisors work for the fighter, not the other way around.

PBC can only offer whose available and willing, they can't force the other fighters, no matter if they are promoted or advised by them, to accept the fight. David has wanted to fight Plant for years, but now, because Plant wants to put himself back in position to rematch Cinnabon, he's willing and asked for the Benavidez fight. For over 4 years, he never accepted David's call out.

The Charlo and Harrison fight ended up bringing more attention to both fighters and the weight class as a whole. Had that fight not happened, most people wouldn't know who Tony Harrison was, and wouldn't have seen how Charlo fought through adversity to retain his title. Hurd ended up losing to J-Rock, which shows that was a more evenly matched fight than was given credit for when it was made.
