This just drives home the point that Plant is mistaken to think that Benavidez Sr can't train just because he never boxed b4. That's like saying Whitey Bimstein, Ray Arcel, and Angelo Dundee couldn't train fighters just because they never boxed b4. Many great trainers never boxed. And good fighters don't always make good trainers. Bevavidez Sr. took his sons from day one from scratch and molded them into professionals. Jose was a very good fighter, and then he was shot in the leg. That can take a lot away from a fighter. David is currently one of the world's best boxers, He has Rayo, and now he's polishing Diego Pacheco into a diamond. The man is obviously a serious trainer and teacher of boxing. Plant is going to suck on, and eat a lot of leather for his poor choice of words

Also sorry socializing this song with the circus, pretty sure it was a parade where I heard this then.

Jose Benavidez Jr won 22x National Championships in the amateurs and demonstrated small pockets of brilliance whenever he fought prior to getting shot in the leg. He also had David who sparred champions at age 15 and became the world youngest super middleweight champion at age 21.

With that kind of experience over the last 15-20 years, of course he is qualified to be a trainer.

Whitey Bimstein and Ray Arcel both boxed. Stop spreading this misinformation.

He’ll probably just say that the sneaky cheater Pacheco caught Cullen at the right time and didn’t give him enough time to train.
