Too much risk for the money is what he's saying...even though Prograis would probably win, seeing how Mathias was outboxed and knocked down by Ananyan.
Guess you missed the fight where Matias put Ananyan into a hospital bed in the rematch with a concussion and broken orbital bone. Matias avenged that 1 bull**** loss. He killed another fighter in the ring. He sent Ponce to the hospital as well. Matias has a history of badly injuring opponents. There’s a reason not too many guys are in a rush to get their fighter into the ring with Matias. The word is out after what Matias did to Dadashev.
Matias has looked like a killer against inexperienced opponents but against top opposition he might not be as effective. He eats too many shots and if they were to fight this year, Id comfortably ride with Prograis.

Guess you missed the part where Prograis isn't anything like Dadashev, or Ananyan, or Ponce for that matter.

Guess you're comfortable with losing.
Regis is completely washed at 35 and this would be considered a cherrypick fight for Matias.
Matias defense has been better than Regis the past 3 years. Ergashev only landed 18% Ponce landed 21%.
Progrias struggled with Zorilla who has pillow fist and dropped Prograis. Prograis isn't built to take Matias volume punching for 5 rounds.
Prograis is predictable and lives off his overhand left to land, if it doesn't he's completely lost in the ring because Regis has no jab and he's already a midget with short arms.
Prograis is shorter but Matias is a superior inside fighter. Matias throws the most punches per round and lands the most per round with a punch accuracy of 39%. Prograis jerky head movement designed for low volume punchers will make him completely food for Matias. Matias throws everywhere and every punch with conventional timing. The handspeed different would have a huge gap, Matias has more handspeed and heavier hands. It won't be a close fight and there's a reason why Prograis ducked Matias since 2019.
I wish Prograis was as confident as you are in him. If the fight gets made and Matias puts Prograis in a stretcher, I'm definately bumping this post regardless of how you feel. Alot of people on boxing scene been hyping up Regis since 2019 when he hasn't really fought anyone world class since Josh Taylor. Matias ending Regis career completely would be bitter sweet to you hypebirds who act like Regis was the guy but he was too afraid to fight Matias for 5 years
