My apologies to his world class resume. Vanes matroysian Steve rolls kamil szermeta Martin Murray all deserve an apology from me. Dude is a can crusher. Best “win” was dervychenko and he anyone who watched that fight knows he lost lol but I’ll give him that. Beating kell Brook wasn’t impressive as he was 147 pound fighter and has been KOd by former 135 lb champ dud duckford so that’s that lol. lil has a carefully constructed career that avoided any risk. He chased canelo the only noteworthy fighter he ever dared to challenge himself with and went 0 for 3. Really a sad career. Avoided Pavlik martinez taylor soon as they were done he came over and tried to pick on cotto. Cotto not dumb tho just said whatever, fought mayweather and retired. Like I said a sad career devoid of any notable career wins
Pavlik literally was retired at the point and "Pavlik said they wanted him to fight Triple G, but there was no way that he could make middleweight at that point in his life. Pavlik says he never seriously gave it a consideration."
Martinez´ manager said "Sergio will be out for at least a year. You saw his last fight, he won it on guts and will and balls alone. He had no knee, he had no hand, and I'm not sending a champion who is 38-years-old - after a year plus layoff - into a ring with this guy. I'm not saying they will never fight. I'm not speaking for Sergio, who is a grown as man and controls his own career. The successor to Sergio Martiknez has already been determined and the next great middleweight is Triple G."
Taylor stopped his career in 2014.

So the guy that made a career off of fighting weak ass mandatories all of a sudden drops a belt when it's time to fight the most skilled of any mandatory that he's faced. FOH.

This wasn't the days of HBO giving multi million dollar purses like Berto and Broner. But yes it is unfortunate that the fight didn't happen. Would've been a good fight.Last edited by garfios; 03-11-2023, 11:23 AM.

If HBO didn't have the money, they could have reached an agreement with SHO, after all HBO and SHO has a history of working together, like I said, you don't know the reason why the fight wasn't made back then, but we do have an idea why is not going to happen now. And is probably the same reason why didn't happen a few years ago, but I really don't know.Last edited by AKAcronym; 03-11-2023, 11:31 AM.

They'd also have to scrap any decent undercard and pay absolute dog**** to not go over budget. 2017 was definitely off the table as their budget was even worse. It maaybe could've happened in 2015 but talks weren't really there at that point. The only way it would have worked is if it was on PPV and I don't know if both parties would have been willing to do that. Yes they've worked together but I don't think for that particular fight it would've happened, well because it didn't, for whatever myriad of reasons. I don't give a **** as to why now the fight won't happen. Golovkin has been pathetic the past few years and he needs to retire and let the division work itself out, if that's even possible with how bad it is/has been.

You're writing the same thing over and over, okay, I yield, you won, by the way, wade is not Lara. Be safeLast edited by AKAcronym; 03-11-2023, 12:42 PM.

So where do you think they're going to come up with the extra money to pay for someone like Lara, who would demand that kind of purse? They'd have to pay hardly anything for the undercard to make it work. It's not hard to understand that money at HBO at that time was getting depleted. This isn't about winning or losing, since that isn't the point of discussion but whatever. Take care.

I'd have paid for the ppv or the subscription, that's all I care, and of course watching the fight. Ggg made millions fighting nobodies until he hit the lottery when he fought canelo, I think he won the first fight, the second I have no issue with canelo been the victor, the third wasn't needed. Again, I think the ginger lost to Lara and looked horrible in the process, but he never gave him a rematch, even thought millions and the press scored the bout for the Cuban. Actually, he never fought another slick fighter until he met a terrified plant and out of his depth. Where ggg goes from here on, who knows, maybe he moves up to 168lbs, he ain't fighting benavidez nor Morell jr that I know. He's closing his career, not with a ****, hopefully he does make a ton of money. Be safe.
