    Pascal stops Branco in 10

Another lhw veteran is due for retirement it seems; Silvio Branco, 43, was stopped by Jean Pascal, 26, in 10 rounds. It was Pascal's first defence of the WBC belt. Cong**** Jean!

Dunno if he's ready yet. But he is gonna breathe life into the division, that's for sure. I'm glad he chose the 175 division instead of the currently-favored 168 one.

Did you even watch the fight? Most of Pascal's knockdowns against Branco were very hard rabbit punches and the referee ruled it as clean knockdowns. Why? Because he was biased when it came down to a hometown fighter.

And I'm not a Pascal hater. I just don't support the fact that the fight was won on rule breaking.

Maybe you should watch the fight before making a thread about how good he was instead of reading the result on boxrec.com.
I just said congratulations for cryin' out loud!:sigh:

We need more fighters like Pascal. He's a stylish boxer who can punch. A boxerpuncher. He was obviously not fully developed when he fought Froch. Either that or Froch's style doesn't suit him. But one thing is certain, he's gonna stay in the lhw top rankings for some time.

knock downs were more pushes, the referee was the worst one, a home referee for a world title, Gerry Bolen, french-canadian.
Look at the replay on the first "knock down" how the referee show a sign with both his hands that Pascal pushed down Branco but then he goes to Branco and count to 8 !!!

At the end of the fourth round, Pascal had Branco backed into the ropes and the Italian suddenly lurched forward and fell on his head, claiming he had been pulled down. Referee Gerry Bolen ruled it a slip but made an eight-count because Blanco appeared to be briefly shaken up.
Gerry Bolen is just too old and has done some things in the ring, ruling a slip/push as knock down for a home fighter and rule a knock down as a slip/push for a foreign fighter against canadian and so on..He's a referee in MMA as well where he caused a minor controversy where a fighter , Jason MacKay, was about to be choked and tapped out but Gerry failed to notice the tap, where the opponent had no other choice than to stand up and leave the grip otherwise he would have killed Jason MacKay..
