Comments Thread For: Ryan Garcia Reveals Details Of Rehydration Clause In Contract For Gervonta Davis Fight

NEW YORK - Ryan Garcia revealed during their press conference Wednesday afternoon that there is a rehydration clause in his contract for his showdown with Gervonta Davis. Garcia informed BoxingScene.com afterward that he cannot weigh more than 146 pounds, 10 more than their contracted catch weight of 136, when he enters the ring for his 12-round fight versus Davis the night of April 22 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The 5-foot-10 Garcia agreed to drop back down near the lightweight limit of 135 pounds to face Davis after weighing in at the junior welterweight maximum of 140 pounds prior to his last fight.

I lost a lot of respect for little Tank. How are you going to talk about that life and then you put restrictions lmao. Where were those restrictions with Mario Barrios? Seems he's scared and knows Ryan could possibly hurt him, that along with the automatic rematch clause.

Stank fights the second top 5 ranked fighter in his career ever and gets scared. Even much bigger A Sides like Canelo, Mayweather, Pac never had catchweights AND rehydration clauses.

Some of y'all sound like you're new to boxing. Lol The bottom line is Ryan agreed to everything. Why is he now complaining? Is he preparing his excuse?

Where does it say he's complaining? He's merely stating the terms of the agreement. As for the fans, why not talk about it? It's an unprecedented catchweight AND rehydration clause. Mayweather, Pac, Canelo all sold more PPVs than Tank but never imposed both.

Now I know you're new to boxing. Catchweight aren't unprecedented. Maybe take a look at what Floyd signed to fight Oscar. Oscar called the shots on EVERYTHING. It will be a fascinating education.

Did you have this same energy when Canelo put a rehydration clause on Danny Jacobs?
