Basically although this says it's formally a Sunday fight by standard intenational TZs and protocol, for the puposes of the anglophone world it's efectively a US Saturday night regular.

IDK though - it is an international site which is the very reason I've made a point of including the UTC amongst the header information, and my thinking is that that puts everyone on a level playing field.

And WRT to the masterthread and formalising this years rule set I am gonna try to get at least something up over the next few days even if it's just a minimalist rule set without my traditional long winded preamble. I really wanted to get something up on the 1st which would have been the 5 year anniversary of the original 2018 Pick Em Redux thread but I'm still here sat squnting like a a mole between my screen and keboard trying to make sure what I'm typing is actually legible. Used to be I could rattle out I post like this in 30 secs but ATMis feeling like running a marathon..
Good points Koba. Most people struggle with time zones ( "is that ahead of me or behind me" ) and UTC is a strange one - some convoluted way of avoiding saying greenwich mean time or similar - it always catches me offguard me when news clips of Sydney Harbour firework displays come up at 2pm on 31st December (must be weird for California residents getting up at 7am)

I think the point of UTC is part political correctness but also the genuine issue that there's the potential confusion during BST of folk working off the UK clock without taking account of the hour difference. In any event UTC is the accepted international standard so it made sense to work off it once I decided we needed a way of alerting people to the fact that a fight wasn't at regular US scheduling - FWIW although I ain't fully consistent with it (and I strongly suspect no one's even noticed anyway) I've begun gravitating towards presenting dates in the internationally standardised format where it's relevent ie yy/mm/dd rather than the UKs dd/mm/yy or the US' mm/dd/yy based on the fully reasonable principle of using the largest denomination first as we do in our numerical systems.

Jesus. Sometimes can't believe the the amount of thought I put into this shit over the last 5.

I noticed the UTC. I am always UTC -5. So I am 16 hours behind Australia. Thanks.

its not been well publicised that we only have 2 x5 - and i see a lot flying around as if they going out of fashion - but yeah - it was yours that prompted the general reminder

with no real confidence as Harrison is mobile but gasses and has a less than sturdy chin and Tim has been put down twice by lesser fighters but comes forward like a lesser version of prime Golovkin

Change to >>> Tszyu KO Late (without any conviction - thats my first official flip)

                  (but subject to a flip-flop attack )
