And yeah, Canelo wants nothing to do with Benavidez.
I was thinking about the same thing. That's a hell of a description of a fighter.

Nah, Benavidez will annihilate Plant, because that's his style, he's that good and he doesn't like Caleb at all.

So Canelo is ducking who exactly? For the better part of a decade, other than a single #1 contender, he has only fought literal champions. Are we supposed to feel sorry for Benavidez that he couldn’t hold onto his belt? And now Canelo is set to fight another #1 contender in Ryder who is ranked 3rd in the division by The Ring and 2nd by BoxRec, but he’s a just a bum?

It’s hilarious that a year ago, this was the hater narrative:
“It’s not as if Canelo was ever going to defend his WBA title against Ryder. If the WBA ordered Canelo to defend against Ryder, he likely would vacate it.”
(Source: Ryder Mandatory To WBA Champion David Morrell, Not Canelo - Boxing News 24/7)

How quickly Ryder went from someone Canelo was guaranteed to duck, to someone not worth fighting at all.

All while claiming Canelo is ducking the likes of Charlo and Andrade, two guys who didn’t even bother fighting in 2022. So while Canelo fights “nobodies,” they literally fight nobody at all. Come on…

You are right about one thing though. Styles make fights, and historically, the only guys that have given Canelo problems in the ring have been guys with great technical skills and/or great footwork. Benavidez has neither. In fact, Canelo’s pressure, toughness, timing, and counterpunching is all wrong for Benavidez. I do hope he makes it past Plant. Just so he can step in the ring with Canelo and not see the championship rounds lol.
LOL You lost all credibility when you said people were claiming Canelo was going to duck John Ryder.....no one ever said that.

Don’t act like he didn’t take a franchise title once Charlo was the wbc mandatory and drop the wbc title, and don’t act like he still didn’t have a chance to take andrades belt if he wanted to make the fight regardless if what happened with Derveyenchenko. He chose not to and chased fighters in a weaker division. Not to mention as you referenced, Canelo had no desire in getting a real win over ggg at that time ant mw and wanted to take his shady win and run off. A rematch with ggg, a fight with Charlo and fight with Andrade all were bigger fights and bigger challenges than those guys he fought at 168.
If he avoided those fights then he ducked them. That’s what that word means..

            So according to you:
•Canelo ducked GGG just to fight him a year later anyway. It couldn’t possibly have been due to negotiations (with a deadline of just 15 days lol).
•Canelo ducked a possibly pointless trilogy fight (which is what it ended up being, to no one’s surprise) to become undisputed at 168.
•Canelo ducked Charlo even the Golden Boy sent his team an offer that got declined.
•Canelo ducked Andrade despite requesting to fight him for undisputed (while knowing now that Andrade would go on to duck Canelo at 168).

            Interesting. I genuinely don’t have a response. You’ve left me speechless ✌

              1. He fought ggg 2 years after ggg became his mandatory.
              2. Nothing is pointless about a trilogy fight when nearly the entire press row had you losing and hardly anyone had you winning. Plus, why take it 4 yrs later when it really didn’t matter?
              3. Canelo didn’t request anything. Golden boy tried to make that request to keep Canelo from getting stripped 2 weeks after they dropped the ball and missed the deadline to do so.
You should be speechless because everything you type is wrong. Better that you just stay shut.
