The British Boxing Board of Control may change their anti-doping regulations in response to the Conor Benn saga, general secretary Robert Smith has confirmed.

They did nothing when he tested positive twice until the media exposed them. No regrets on that still?
If somebody tests positive, their upcoming fight should be cancelled and the results should be made public. Multiple times now the British board has sat with a positive test as if confused about what to do.
So what exactly are they considering changing, something that would ******line the process and cut down on the time decisions are made, or something that makes it easier to get into the ring after failed tests? Fast Eddie has his hand raised.....
Benn cheated, but since Eddy was keeping it quiet, he cheated some more. UKAD needs to quit back room meeting with Eddy and quit doing his bidding. They wouldn't need to fix their rules if they weren't so shady.
I suspect the bbofc regulations make no explicit reference to Vada testing and are geared around Ukad. If so this would make them more open to a legal challenge in a situation such as this when they are prohibiting a fight going ahead based on less explicit regulatory breaches, such as 'bringing the sport into disrepute'
A regulatory change to include vada failures as a reason to prohibit a fight would mean the bbofc have less concern they could be challenged. I do wonder if fear of a large lawsuit (remember hearn was talking about lawyering up in the immediate aftermath) meant the board were to scared to act until the media broke the story.
