Nah! Don’t try to defend one by bringing a different context.
Manny criticized Floyd for fighting exhibition fights. And then he starts doing them. That’s it.
As for Floyd’s weight argument, both Canelo and Marquez are the ones that asked for those fights and offered catchweights. Floyd did not call those guys out. They did.
Your argument is similar to the political arguments we hear all the time. Someone accuse Trump of cheating on his wife and the opposite side will respond by accusing ***** of some crazy shït instead of acknowledging the issue at hand.

$$$ going low, didn't win election as president or VP. yet to step back in out of your prime on a 3 year lay off vs a PED abuser is Ludacris. His name ain't big, you'll get a bigger bag doing an exhibition vs amir Khan, or a " real fight" vs Jake paul tommy fury in a david goliath no weight class fight. Size vs experienceComment

Both are hypocrites, that is a FACT! Floyd said “I've never fought a guy at a catch weight. I don't fight guys at catch weights. I want a fighter at their best weight". He said "I still consider Cotto undefeated". That makes him a hypocrite too. Canelo's offer was long before they sat at the negotiating table and Floyd refused to agree with Canelo to fight at "his best weight". Both Floyd and Pac are hypocrites. Nothing you can say will change that.
So you agree that Canelo did in fact offer Floyd a catchweight. Nice
Thats a fair argument. What is your take on Manny loyalists who have been making fun of Floyd’s exhibition fights yet love that Manny fought a YouTuber?

“I would never want to put a fighter in a position where he’s not comfortable. I want a guy when he’s at his best. If he’s at his best at 154 and he’s strong and he’s solid, then that’s the fight we’re fighting at. I walk around at 150, but at the end of the day – skills pay the bills…. Give me the guys where they are comfortable at their weight so there are no excuses.” – Floyd Mayweather Jr
“I look at Miguel Cotto as an undefeated fighter because he faced Pacquiao, but Pacquiao caught him at a catch weight. He wasn’t the best Miguel Cotto. He was drained. He wasn’t hydrated.”
-Floyd Mayweather Jr
What is Mayweather doing now? You guessed it, fighting Saul “Canelo” Alvarez at a catchweight! If Mayweather never ran his mouth about catchweights and publicly criticizing those prize fighters that do, then I would have no problems with this fight being at 152lbs. Mayweather went back on his word and made himself into a huge hypocrite.Last edited by richardt; 03-07-2023, 08:13 PM.Comment

I'm not a loyalist and called Pac a hypocrite which is what he became when he criticized Floyd for doing the same thing he is doing now with exhibitions. Anyone who criticizes Pac or Floyd without criticizing the other is BIASED. And Canelo pulled back that offer but Floyd proved he was a hypocrite, just like this article shows:
“I would never want to put a fighter in a position where he’s not comfortable. I want a guy when he’s at his best. Once again, you make fair points. Like I said before, the difference between Floyd and PAC is that Freddy Roach carefully chose fights with specific guys to disadvantage them by catchweights which gave PAC the dubious distinction of the only fighter to win titles in “8 divisions”. He is on record stating, “I have to give my guy the advantage”.
I can understand doing it once because someone bigger (higher weight class) called you out and you want to be on an even platform but to do it multiple times and then add in the fights with guys that were coming off spectacular losses, we have a man that can described as is a cherry picker.
Canelo did call out Floyd after beating Cintron. He said he understands Floyd is a WW so he’d meet Floyd at a reasonable weight. Those are facts.
Now, agreeing with you means, Floyd could have just gone to 154 he would have still beaten Canelo but he didn’t.
