I know Hurd wanted to change his style to avoid taking punishment, but not only has he still been taking punishment but he hasn't really been able to implement the new style effectively or successfully. He can work on his defense while still coming forward and putting pressure on his opponents. The new style just isn't working for him.

Hurd has to be one of the worst unified champions of this century if not of all time. No defense, flat flooted, arm puncher, low/average volume.

Brutal fight. Hurd just can't fight at this level as a brawler when facing better opponents and those closer to his size. If he can't learn to use his size effectively he might as well retire.
