It’s not Tank’s phrase. It belonged to Joe Louis - “everyone has a plan until they get hit”.

Tank knows boxing. It’s a well known phrase. Essentially he’s making the point that whatever plan Stevenson has it might all change when he’s actually in the ring with him and lands. It’s a fair point. Nobody had really got to Stevenson so far and landed with any degree of regularity. Clearly Tank expects to and to be fair he has always caught up with his opponents so far although he hasn’t yet faced anyone with Stevenson’s defensive capabilities.

That's not so, he fought Jeremia Nakathila who was 21-1 (17 KO's), he caught Shakur two or three times during the course of the 12 round.
He was playing safe form the start, but after dropping Nakathila for a flash knockdown, he tasted Nakthila's power, and he kept it moving from then on.
Shakur defended the title that night, and won by large margins on all three of the judges score card's, which is what just might occur in a fight against Tank.

I thought that was Shakur's WORSE performance in his young career! He handled Valdez much better! I wish Bob would've made Keyshawn Davis vs. Jeremia Nakathila! Maybe he's mad because Nakathila finished Miguel Berchelt! You remember how mad he was when Rigo schooled Donaire! Lol!

Although he was forced to give up both his WBC and WBO super featherweight titles, Stevenson (19-0, 9 KOs) brushed off his championship forfeiture and declared that he would compete going forward as a full-fledged lightweight.

Mike Tyson said this first (1987).

Twenty years later, someone tried attributing it to Joe Louis, but they had no reason to do so. It was Iron Mike that first said it.

"He can run, but he can't hide": that's Joe Louis.

It’s not, “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.”? That’s what the Tyson poster says in my home gym.

He caught a lot of hell over the way he practically ran away from Nakathila, but i'd rather look bad, and win on point's.
Rather than look electrifying in a fight only to get knocked before the final bell rang.
Nakathiela took out his frustration from not being able to catch up to Shakur, on Miguel Berchelt!
Now that's to vicious knockout's suffered by Berchelt, back to back, it might just be time for him to seriously consider retiring.

No, it's true. Joe Louis said it many years beforehand. Tyson used to watch all the old fights with Cus. I've actually heard Louis say it.
