At the end of the day just like any other rich person Mayweather is bored and loves to make money. He needs to let the younger guys do the fighting and stick to promoting. He's to dam old even for exhibitions

It’s nothing to do with how long the tickets were on sale

tickets can sell out in minutes here, even at short notice if it’s an event people actually want to see.

All that’s happened here if they’ve booked an arena that’s too big and an opponent that’s not as well known as they probably expected. I’ve never heard of him. Tie that in with the face nobody really cares about watching a middle aged Mayweather, especially when the novelty value has worn off because he does exhibitions every few months.

They basically overestimated the popularity of everyone in involved.

The first I had heard about this exhibition fight was from social media showing the empty seats afterwards

I wouldn't have been interested anyway but goes to show how badly the event was marketed.

As worthless (to sensible people) as these matches are, it's telling that it's a thing.
What other fighter could sustain such a farcical 2nd career ?'
Big George being a pitch man was legit unexpected.

I mean he has had a successful career as a multi weight division champion and dominated in his time...

add to that revenue he has made from his professional fights be it from sold out arenas and also PPV made him fortunes...

his legacy pretty much speaks for itself as did his training regime when he was active...

though to be honest I was never a fan I didn't always like the way he came across or things he said/did which sometimes rubbed me the wrong way in the past but that's just the sport for you sometimes.....I did however respect his achievements in the ring

most people won't be too interested in watching exhibition bouts so it was bound to happen but he will be making some decent figures from the exhibition bouts so it won't matter in the long term for him..

Maybe if he fought khan!? or someone like him it might of worked but fighting some chav off what is it geordie shore!? isn't going to work... when he put the tickets on sale is wholly irrelevant.

He was fighting a nobody, people seem to thinks Brits are obsessed with boxing for some reason, it's just as niche a sport over here as it is elsewhere, I hear more people discussing video games and MMA in my day to day life strangely enough than I've ever heard about boxing at least since Tyson fought Lewis...

He never promoted it all. No one knew it was on and against an unknown opponent whats he expect?

He still gets emotional you can tell, when blame comes his way! I’m not mad at you for making excuses though politicians do it all the time without remorse. The only thing I would recommend is not saying a dame thing, just get your money!

Its money laundering. It’s been money laundering for years.

It's not just putting tickets on late. Im not sure how many in the UK have heard of that opponent he had, Chalmers.

But he looked like he is pretty tough, even though can't box well. They wouldn't have made much money from the arena, but the PPV were probably okay.

Then again, some would just stream it, and not from a website where you have to pay, except use your internet data/wifi, etc.
