Comments Thread For: Eddie Hearn on Mauricio Lara: This Is Just The Beginning

Eddie Hearn has had some very kind words to say about one of his new world champions. The head honcho of Matchroom Boxing was ringside in Nottingham last weekend as Leigh Wood's reign as WBA featherweight king came to an end at the hands of Mauricio Lara.

Lara is a beast, but I don't know if he's the best at 126. He would probably clip Vargas, but I would like to see him fight the winner of the Figueroa-Magsayo fight before giving him that crown.

Lara has two rematches that he can cash in on that are very winnable fights for him. The minute he faces a boxer that can move more he will loose unless he can catch up to them. He don't throw straight punches and is very susceptible to them plus he can be hurt in a fight.

He is fun though and I hope I see him for a while take on all comers.

If he fights where the ref doesn’t let you hold and stall. Pbc sh it he does fine. If he’s going against the ref and the judges he’s done. Slick boxing is not holding. Holding is cheating.
