That's a bull**** move on Danny's part, and he shouldn't have to stoop so low to be part of history. He doesn't need any catch-weight, he's better than that!
Listen up Garcia camp, if you you want to take on Lara, and snatch his middleweight title to boot take him at his best, not at his weakest, you'll be respected for it.

So, basically Danny is saying that even if he could get past Fundora, Harrison, Lubin, Castano, or Tim, he doesn't believe that he could beat Charlo for the belts at 154. Thus, his reason for a one pound catchweight difference, but fighting to be recognized as a 3 division champion, by fighting someone at middleweight, but not really, that he thinks doesn't have it anymore.

It is a bull**** way of trying to make history, because the weight limit is 160, not 155, and you can't change things to suit your purpose's.
You don't want any asterisk's next to any of your achievement's, because all that does is take away the luster of the goal.

That said in defense of Danny's great career, in two of those three great fight's, and so call losses, I saw Danny beat two of those fighter's.
I saw Danny beating Keith Thurman (damaging him in the process, and starting him off on an injury prone career), and I had him beating Shawn Porter.
That said I also saw him lose to Mauricio Herrera in Puerto Rico no less, that coming right after the biggest win in his career against Lucas Matthysse.
He had to be flying so high that he thought he didn't have anything to worry about against a fighter with 3 losses, but no excuses he was brought back down to earth.
At this stage in his career he should be looking to close out his career with as big a **** as possible, not with a fizzle.
I have the world of respect for Danny "Swift" Garcia, he's had a hell of a damn good career without any legal woes, and that's saying a lot when you take into account his big mouth father.

If that fight is ever made, Lara would be 40 to Danny’s 35. The age disparity could help the undersized Garcia. I wouldn’t mind this match-up. If Landy comes to fight, which he’s been known to do, it could be fun.

Oh yeah, I really respect him for stepping up and fighting anyone that the boxing public thought was the best, and putting on great performances even when he got the short end of the stick.

If he stays at 154, I would give him the edge over most of them besides Jermell, but I think he's looking for 2 or 3 big money opponents that have the names and belts to bolster his legacy, but he just doesn't think that he can beat Charlo. I definitely respect him as a fighter, but not this Cinnabon type of move he's trying to pull with Lara.
