But that's the thing. It wasn't Warrington using his head to smash into Lara's face. It was Lara thrusting his face into Warrington's head after overthrowing a punch. Go and watch the fight if you don't believe me. Slow it down too. Every clash was due to Lara, not Warrington. The same thing with the damage to Wood's face. It wasn't Lara's punches. He didn't land all that much. it was his head for the very same reason of overthrowing his punches and missing. He's wild in there.

If you can give me one shred of evidence of Warrington being at fault, i'll hold my hands up. Go through the fight with a fine toothcomb if you want. You'll come back with nothing. I'm telling the absolute truth.

That said Woods knockout was brutal, and one never knows just what type of lingering effect's it may have on him.
You've made a few good point's in your post, but it's not the way you start the fight that count's, it's the way you finish.
True. Wood needed to keep his right hand up when hooking with Lara. He brings it down when throwing. he can win that rematch if he corrects that.

The other problem i had was Wood being out for a year. It's never a good thing when going in against someone dangerous. But he's had some rounds now. Go again in 5 months with a strict game plan, he can win his belt back. He just needs to not go for the KO. Points is all he needs. If Lara overreaches when leading by getting desperate, land a hard counter and knock him out. But not until he does.

        Bro
Did you even watch this fight?
        Lol
Lara did spit at Warrington & even admitted in an interview afterwards

Giving it a bit more consideration, I would like to see the rematch, because Wood did connect with some very significant punches prior to his being knocked out.

And why would they fight in the US? Is Lara a ticket seller like Leigh is?

Good job you're not a promoter. You're the kind of person who would choose a shed over a stadium.
As exciting as Lara is, and he's Mexican, I would have to say it's a failure of the promoter, that Mauricio Lara is not a seller in the U.S.! Lara should be on par with Navarette, Valdez, and Andy Ruiz! No way can an All-Action, Mexican fighter, fail to sell in the U.S.!

Lara just started building a profile during the pandemic, and his most notable opponents were Brits. He's been fighting in Mexico and the UK. Lara has the style, but needs more time and more U.S. exposure against the RIGHT opponents.

Brandon Figueroa, Emmanuel Navarette, and Oscar Valdez. Choose one!

Figueroa/Lara is FOTY material, all in for that. Valdez/Navarrete is gonna be a firefight too.

Next time, he can be smarter and keep it at distance and not look for the KO. Just win on points. Lara was unwilling to lead in case he got caught by a counter and taken out himself. Wood just needs to keep him in a box and win on points. If Lara wants to leap from too far out, let him. Then you can sit on a counter and take him out. But only if Lara does get desperate.
He was winning on points but he wasn't dominating anything, he reminded me a bit like Khan canelo, where one guy was winning but everyone just knew that he was going to be swatted like a fly soon,
