I really have no preference as to who wins, I just want an exciting heavyweight fight for once.

Vitali Klitschko-Chris Arreola: Pre-Fight Report Card

See how the author ranks the fighters kinda close, giving Klitschko a slight edge in a few categories?
Mark my words, after the fight he will have been a no hoper and never stood a chance. It will be said that he should never have taken the fight and Vitali is just picking on limited guys, and so on and so on. He will get little credit for it even though Cris is ring top ten and the #1 ranked WBC challenger.
Same thing happened with Sam Peter and Gomez and it will just happen again.

I think Freddy Kruegger i mean Arreola is going to pull off the victory.Lots of head movement and plenty of combination punches from all angles is going to be the key to victory for arreola. Klit is just going to jab and set up his bomb but will miss and will get countered by Kruegger

Ive been saying Vitali by KO in the 4th, so Im pretty much with you. I think Vitali is only in danger in the first round. It will be the best round for The Nipple. After that, if he hasnt managed to land a bomb to put Vitali away the beating will begin. Chris is getting Michael Grant-ed tomorrow.

Originally posted by edgarg View PostA well balanced and succinct article. However, the writer "speaks" of Arreola turning up bloated with rolls of fat, and then, that an Arreola win would be "good" for boxing?? I don't exactly understand this. How could it be good for boxing??
Then, later on, the article mentions the consummate professionalism of Klitschko, and bestows upon him, the ultimate compliment, that he's so good that he makes all others look bad.
In my opinion, to have such a worthy champion is "good" for boxing, and that his high standard will encourage others to make themselves better. The alternative, with, say, Arreola winning, would be to have an undisciplined, unprofessional, likely-to-be-beaten-anytime, champion.
Again, in my opinion, the choice, if I could chose, is openly obvious.
It would be good for boxing in the U.S. A mMexican-American Heavyweight with big pop and personality can sell. Like it or not, the Klits have not been extremely popular here. Vit would have been, started to be, and still could be but it's a short window at 38.

And there isn't much credit for beating any of these guys because this is so visibly an ass generation at Heavy. However, beating who is available is typically a way to respect in the long term. Arreola is part of what's there.Last edited by crold1; 09-26-2009, 09:35 AM.

The US should be more grateful for getting to see Vitali over there. Vitali has taken a significant paycut to be able to fight in LA in a venue which probably doesn't even sell out. That's a huge contrast to Europe where Wlad sold 60,000 tickets last time out and Vitali I am sure, could do the same.

Arreola says VK has never fought anybody like him, on the contrary, Arreola has never fought anybody like VK. Most of Arreolas wins that i have seen have been from guys that stood in front of him, where he could land his big bombs, Klitschko will be nowhere in range for Arreola to nail him like he did Witherspoon and Walker. The range will be the difference. Sure if Vitali just stood in front of him like his other opponents then flabby chest has a chance, but thats not going to happen now is it.
